The last 2 Ratchets shouldn't have been made as they could have focused resources on a PS4 launch game and saved the series from fatigue. Now I feel like they almost have to take a break to get rid of that fatigue and have time to make a great PS4 game.

watch this will be the one comment about HL Gabe sees and he'll take it as the demand of the entire fanbase. You've doomed us to another decade without it.
Everything needs a break besides Zelda and Metal Gear Solid because those already take a good deal of time before another one is released. Only release Sonic if a real Sonic Adventure 3 is made. And Final Fantasy only if they stop doing sequels to the main numbered series. If it gets to that, then it needs a break. A 3D Mario would be welcomed if it isn't a sequel (SMG3, Sunshine 2, etc.).
Mario should stay since it's really not the games that are being milked (except, perhaps, Mario Party). I enjoy seeing Mario games, and they most definitely aren't the same thing over and over again. The exceptions that look the same are the NSMB series, Mario Kart, and Mario Party.
Final Fantasy should stop, it's kind of ridiculous that there's now 14 of them, not including the spin offs and remakes. They should do what they did with Bravely Default, make a new name, new franchise and take some risks.
Assassin's Creed should stop, mostly because it's kind of ridiculous to have released two games last year, and another two games this year. People are going to get tired of it, especially since most people thought it would have ended with 3.
Zelda should continue. The games are hardly the same from each other, and Nintendo seems to be promising to take some risks with the series so I do not want to see this stop before we get to see what direction the franchise will go. I also don't know what 17 games have been released since 2000. Are you including the remakes, rereleases, etc?
As for the rest, I have little to no opinion on.
Hey Jay, I'm a little confused by these numbers. Are you counting mobile games, remakes, ports, and collections? Also, 85 Mario games since 2000? That can't be right, even with the GBA ports.

Yes this is including collections, ports, and spinoffs. All of those things are milking more money out of the series by using a recognizable name. And i can send you the list of mario games. i actually cut it down and ignored games that just had a small appearcance with him like Donkey kong or Diddy Kong Racing for DS

What about mobile games? Because I'm not counting 19 games for Metal Gear.
I bet you forgot to count Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. If so, I am disappoint.
Also shouldn't it be 6 games for the main series of MGS? Since you counted PW it seems, you should count Portable Ops as well. 8 games if you count MG1 and MG2.
For me Assassin's Creed. Way too much man. I know people are quick to jump on Mario, but on a whole I don't find so. Maybe the character is in a lot of games, but the 3D Mario games are not released that often, in my opinion.
Playstation = The Beast from the East
Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

I did count the ones on the handhelds and in total it adds up to 8 mainline mario games since 2000 on both console and handheld. Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Party etc. are spin offs. Mainline games consist of only the platformers that follow the style of the first Super Mario Bros. (NES) game.
