it  is, a  lot  of  people  play xbox  and they don't  like  nintendo , because  that's  for  kids, even my little  cousin that is  12 , years  old  says that :(

What is the most popular video game among the cartels of Juarez?

Mobile is getting bigger each month. Companies like Telcel are offering great deals for smarthphones, like the last holiday when I get my GSIII for just 2,000.- pesos (150.00 USD or so, considering the taxes and all that).

On the other hand, I have seen a recesion (?) in the videogame department with lower sales aside from established franchises like COD.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I was thinking about this earlier, and given ~12m console gamers in Mexico, and ~82m in the US according to Newzoo, I think it's likely there are about 11 million current / last gen consoles sold in Mexico to date.

NPD had ~38.5m X360s, 41m Wiis, and 23.5m PS3s sold in the US off the top of my head, for 103m. I think Mexico is at least 11% of that. I should check the Nintendo Channel again, but last time I looked, Latin America was about 11% of everything in the US, and Mexico is 75% of that for consoles. Mexico is a better market for Microsoft (it's probably a top five market for them), and good for Sony too. I think it splits like this now:

                   US               Mexico

Wii            41m               3.5m (8.5% of US)

X360         38.5m           5.0m?* (14%? of US)

PS3            23.5m           2.7m (11.5% of US?)

We have 23m X360s in Europe, NPD had 38m in the US - that's 61m. Australia & Canada & Japan might be another 7m - so I think it's reasonable that 5m are in Mexico - that leaves 3-4m for the rest of the world (South America, Asia, Africa, etc) as there will be 77m ish X360s shipped through March 2013.

Mexico is Xbox land. No doubt about it.

It's hard to calculate the real value of the Mexican market. Lots of gamers buy consoles in the USA. Especially people who live in the states that are near the USA. I've bough't two PS3's and I bought both of them in the USA.
