It's already been brought up, but where does this "will get into" come from?

Well at least they are asking this rather then asking if the catholic church is going to start helping to steal babies from women shortly before torturing and eventially killing them for being communists along with pointing out any free thinking priests and putting them to death.

This pope is going to be an interesting one for sure.

It'd be interesting to say the least if the guy accused of specifically pointing out socialist, communist and just left leaning priests did suddenly switch the church into putting a big call for big government.

Really his history is a lot more clouded then "Pope I was forced to become a Nazi just like every other German in my age group."

Though he has a fun personality and weird little quirks about him so it'll be ignored by most of the media.

HA! True enough, on all fronts. I'll admit I don't know much about Francis I yet, but what little I've heard indicates he doesn't neatly fit into a defined subcategory.

How many centuries before the Black Death was birth control invented that the Catholic Church supported?

The idea goes back to antiquity, but almost nothing is known about medieval European methods prior to the plague because it was so methodically stamped out.

By rhythm method, which ones did they support?  Show an article besides natural that the Catholic church supported, prior to the Black Death.  My understanding of the policy is that they want people to practice self control, and use sex out of love and to plan families, rather than out of carnal lust and to prevent the effects of sex.  If anyone wants to show otherwise, feel free to, but this article says otherwise:

Do you really find it so hard to believe that the Catholic church, which was once extremely tolerant of prostitution to the point of promoting it as a less sinful alternative to the evils of masturbation, might have also had a change of heart vis-a-vis birth control? Birth control and prostitution would seem to go hand in hand, after all.

...They used to support birth control, but reversed it during the plague (which was a good thing)  because so many people died they didn’t think civilization could survive.  I think for the good of people, civilization and the planet, it’s time for them to go back to their old ways.

For the benefit of all, and mostly the poor.

How many centuries before the Black Death was birth control invented that the Catholic Church supported?

Actually, all of them.  Forms of birth control have documented to nearly 2,000 years in ancient Egypt long *before* Christ.  So, much longer than the Roman Catholic Church has even been around. Granted they weren't as successful as the ones today. They had both barrier methods, spermicidal methods, and herbal (medical) methods.  And even herbal abortions.

It was the Plague that cause the reversal.  In some places over 70% of the population died off within a short time. It must have been terrifying.  Some leaders predicted that their wouldn’t be enough people left to perform different jobs, grow food, and have society survive.  So they said it was a duty to have children to stop the collapse of society. (But that was several billion humans ago.)  I think it was porbably the right thing.

They still support some forms of birth control today, such as 'the rhythm method,' having the woman take her temperature every day, etc.  They just aren't as effective as The Pill or Condoms.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Tell me a funny joke!

I would rather not pull information like this out of the air, not backed by anything but, "Gee that sounds right".  I am calling this comment on birth control, because evidence needs to be presented.  Best not to presume anything here.

Go show evidence anywhere that the Catholic Church supported any form of birth control besides the natural planning method.  Post some article or anything here to support that view.  Without this, it is just speculation.  I was able to at least find something badgenome posted regarding prostitution and a degree of tolerance, but nothing on birth control.  All I found was that Catholic appologist site post on the subject.

any move that doesnt involve the dissolution of this font of corruption, hate, bigotry, perversion and flat out idiocy on so many levels is a bad move, quite frankly.

this new pope is a sick man with blood on his hands and a worshipper of war.
