WTH happened here?!?!

I think the main thing is to a) not to pull another bait & switch like Nintendo did with the Spaceworld 2000 showcase to Wind Waker. At least this time, WW HD is not a game being built from scratch, and we know the new game is being worked on right now.

b) when people get a shiny new console, they want games that show off the tech and make them feel justified in spending hundreds of dollars. I'd imagine even more so for those whose first HD system is the Wii U. Most people want the first Zelda for a console to go all-out graphics wise to really show what the system can do, and any sequel after that is just icing.

Screw graphics, you know what we're gonna see in Zelda Wii U? Asymmetric co-op.

It's all right there in Nintendoland. Link's gonna slash things up with a wiimote while Zelda perforates baddies with the bow of light.

You know what? I should be a goddamn game designer.

Couldn't tolerate WW art style. Haven't played SS yet to judge, but I'm partial to OoT and TP and the tech demo...

Whoa. Now THAT is interesting. I guess that would be an evolution of the cooperative mechanics in Spirit Tracks.

I just don't know how to feel about it. It might end up being obtrusive. But maybe not. It could actually be amazing.

I would love to see the Wind Waker style in HD......... but since they're already doing that, I'd like the new Zelda game to be done with realistic graphics.

How can you say it's a terrible idea if you haven't played the final product? I like new things so I'd be all for a toon style ground up Wii U Zelda game.

I'm pretty sure The Wind Waker HD remake indicates the "real" Wii U Zelda will have a completely different art style.

Because they mentioned the main reason the WW HD remake even exists is because they were experimenting with old Zelda art styles on Wii U, so this sounds like they liked the cartoony style, but liked something else better (likely a more realistic style).

So the cartoony style gets brought back for the Wind Waker remake. The proper Zelda will be different.

I wouldn't mind either way. I would blindly buy it.
