Sales for consoles weren't good, but Halo 4 was released in 2012, so I certainly don't think it was the worst year.

Other than Mass Effect 3 and Borderlands 2 I didn't played any games that I really like this year. However, I'm not the best person to judge since I missed games like Xenoblade, Journey and Halo 4 for example.

2005 comes to mind.

2006 started the Wii craze.  Don't know why people see that as bad.

It had some great games, and in 2012 I bought more psn/xbl games then in any other year.
But it's also the year in which I traded most $60 titles back in.

i liked 2012 but weirdly i would also say 2012... but why..
i think it was because we had no BIG holiday game from Sony for me.
Although i got the Vita and lots of games for that!
SSX was a let down.. as was Twisted Metal.. both i was really hoped for

Yeah choices would be 2010, 2011, or 2012.  Hard to say.  I thought last year was pretty packed though.  Borderlands 2 released.

2003 was pretty boring.

I agree. 2012 was one of the worst Years in a long, long time. Especially for consoles and especially for retail games.

PC, Xbox Live and PSN were good.

2013 is already looking approximately 69 times better.
