What? Wii Sports. Rated M for Mature. LOL

Diz gaem sez iz M for matoor. I liek diz gaem. Derefor, I iz matoor person!

On Topic, Wii U's problem right now is that Nintendo thought having all the mayor multiplats without any meaningful improvements would be enough alongside Mario, but it isn't. Rayman Legends, Monster Hunter and Colonial Marines should all release until mid february, but they aren't and that's bad.

True. Totally agree with you.

Wii Fit U should be coming before the end of march, so they're going there. But yeah, there's currently nothing like Wii Sports in sight at the moment.

Just of curiousity, but why would WiiFitU boost WiiU sales?

People bought WiiFit back along with the Wii when it was this HUGE phenomenon, spent $250 for the console + ~$80 for the WiiFit bundle, which had them spending well over $300 for it.

With WiiFitU they will already have a fitness game that works with the Balance Board and (2) different software title, if you don't take into account the EA fitness, Zumba, etc...

I just don't see these same people shelling out another $300-$350 and then another $40+ for the software just to make use of the WiiFit board they have.

What will the Gamepad possibly add that the Wii versions could not?

I personally don't see the appeal in it this time around for new and/or current WiiFit owners.

Well, the problem is the same with every sequel for every new console there is. Just because people buy different games, doesn't mean their purchasing behaviour would be any different.

The game in sight that makes the best advantage of the Gamepad is Wii Fit U, the off-TV play gives a huge advantage over Wii Fit Plus.
Wii Fit U is supposed to have new and fun features and games, so it's definately refreshing for people who already are tired of playing the same excercises.

Unlike EA Sports Active, Your Shape, Zumba Fitness, and all the others there is, Wii Fit is fun, and unlike the others, it's also arcade and fun to watch. It really is a unique game.

Wii Fit owners were also treated well; Wii Fit had strong content, a sequel, with the sequel even with stronger content.

The price is always the issue; I don't think Wii Fit U will shoot the sales through the roof, but I would see it as a game that has power to maintain the sales on a higher level for a long time.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Wii Fit U is a series with broad appeal and an adult focus, and very high sales. It could move systems... as long as the interest is still there.

I find it funny that many people know that Wii Fit U or a Wii U sports game, will actually sell more systems, when clearly those are not games Nintendo fans look foward to.

Do Nintendo-fans actually agree with this?

Is being top on sale that important?

I don't consider myself a "Nintendo-fan".  I just like talking sales and WiiU is the interesting topic at the moment.  And this is a sales website, so yeah sales are important to me and to the fans of all of the various systems on here. It's why the site exists.

Problem is appealing to Nintendo fans don't sell a ton of systems.  See Gamecube.

But for Nintendo fans, being on top saleswise hasn't provided more of the games they cherish. See Wii.

Lack of mature software?? No, thats not the problem. Lack of software period. X360 & ps3 have huge libraries right now. The selection is just not there yet. I dont want games i already have on x360 or ps3. They need games and fast. As of now there are no classics on e shop either.

But...er...isn't this a common hurdle for any new console??? Even the ps4 and next xbox will have to compete with the ps3,360 and wii u and I say good luck to 'em. Consoles have had far weaker launch lineups (and fairly lacklustre first year software lineups) than the wii u and lived to see another day.

I asked that before in different words. I was told this is sales website. So sales are more important than games that make you happy.

Well, it would be much harder to a create a craze with "Wii Sports U", as Nintendo wasn't excactly sticking with the Wii Sports buyers and it will be much harder for Nintendo to win them back, unlike Wii Fit, to whom Nintendo was able to show some commitment to.

As you said, this is a sales site. What would you expect on a sales site; people spend their time whining about games on consoles they don't care, like all the 15 year olds do in the internet, or speculate the possible effect of game coming to a system?

On my behalf, I expect a lot from Wii Fit U, as the two previous games in the series were just great.

Technically, if you're a fan of a company, they can shove two fists up your ass, and you still think they just did the greatest thing ever.

However, if you're a fan of a game/games or a series of game/games, I don't really see the point of your question, as the games you like are most likely coming, with or without the games you do not like.

I agree its a common hurdle. I was stating that I don't want the same games I already have. The launch is weak software wise for someone who owns all previous systems and said games. Ps4/720 Won't have that problem because they're not going to have a bunch of ports for launch titles.

And I absolutely hope the best for wii u. I really like the system. I'm hoping to see more games like zombiu. And I'm really hoping to see gamecube games on wii u e shop. I played my gamecube almost as much as my ps2.

Considering Wii Fit U coming and NSMBU already being on Wii U, I wouldn't exactly say that would hold true.
However, considering the TGS showing, where Wii Remote was unveiled, Nintendo did surprisingly small amount of games that they "promised" with their trailer. In the end, Wii Sports buyers were pretty much left alone after the purchase.
