Yes this is true but it will be much more relevant when it actually happens, don't you think?

Weve also been saying for years due to gen over gen comparisons, 360 wins regardless. Also how since all 3 next gen consoles are due out soon, you have a pretty short window to celebrate victory because im 100% positive the Nintendo and MS fans will have moved on to WiiU and next Xbox getting a head start on PS4 ;)

Only the PS3 camp will care, and itll fall on deaf ears.

I always saw this coming. I just think that 360 will hold out until its successor. Thats mission acclomplished to MS, and to me anyway.

I put effort because I don't like smug 3rd place fans acting like its the PS2 days.But when the next Xbox comes out, I literally have something new and current to take my attention away from what is happening now.

Plus, int he grand scheme, 360 was beating PS3 from 2005-2013. Thats 9 calender years. I guess you guys are due to celebrate a couple for yourselves lol

Here's the thing - the argument all along from PS3 fans was that because the PS3 is a powerful console, it would have legs and sell longer than the other consoles.  People said that wouldn't be true.  We're seeing now that it is true.  That has merit in itself.

Sony positioned this console as a future proof console that would sell more than the competition in later years.  I think it's fine for Sony to celebrate that future-proofing paying off.

Its ironic but any profit PS3 is making now will never offset the 4 billion PS3 lost from 2006-2009.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I still say 2014. It will close the gap quite a bit. Probably less then 1m towards the holidays, and overtake it during the dry period in 2014. That's my prediction.

Only because their are so many who predicted the X360 would be dead when PS3 launces...  You should check some very old threads...Threads where 90% of the people predicted that the PS3 will pass the X360 before 2010..    

Like I said before MS doesn't care so much about being number 2 or 3. What they care a lot about is being number one in the USA.  Yes we are going to hear a lot how they were number 1 in the biggest gaming market....when sony..Well was number one in Portugal...

Lol. So you really think 360 costs as much as it did in 2008? You can get one here for as low as €149.

If MS cuts prices early this year while Sony doesn't, then it probably won't happen this year.

I don't care about what other people predicted.  I care whether my own predictions were accurate.  I also don't care how much money Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo make.  I'm not a shareholder.

But many were/are..on vgchartz.   Especially Nintendo.    

My point is for example that people like  Leo-J predicted PS3 will pass X360 in 2007...Then 2008..then 2009..Then 2010..then 2011..then 2012...And he will be their posting in the  'PS3 passed X360 thread'   I told you so!!!

I think it will definitely happen this year and I will be bold and say within the first half of 2013. Here's why: The big hitters like Halo and COD did not move as many units as I thought it would. There really is only one big game for 360 this year (that I can think of) and its Gears of War. The PS3 has several such as The Last of Us and God of War and a few others that should still move a few units like Beyond: Two Souls, Ni No Kuni, and Tales of Xilia. Lastly, the gap as of now according to the chartz is 1.6 million. PS3 is almost always undertacked on the chartz so it will probably get a good 300-500k boost, especially since reports are that 77 mill units have been shipped.
