It is funny how many people regress into little children when talking about Nintendo, especially those who acts like Nintendo killed their mother or something

HAHA this is so true as with the Bayonetta 2 example.. I could not believe even with the so called professional game journalist crying murder!! for Nintendo taking their game!.. funniest thing to watch!..

I truly hope there are more of these types of scenario in future wiiU releases where a game gets exclusive on the wiiU... fun times ahead!

What Journalist would cry over any Platinum Games title? Any exclusive Platinum Games title is a death sentence to its sales. Their games are incredibly niche such a new company. You would think they would try to come up with ways to be relevant outside of 90-2000's era Japanese arcade style gaming with generic characters and decent arcade style action.

did a quick searches.. I cant seem to find who it was.. its been a long while

"Any exclusive Platinum Games title is a death sentence to its sales" <- but Bayonetta2 was already in the grave and Nintendo pulled it back up!..

so you rather it dead than Nintendo giving it life.. and obviously if Nintendo uses their own money to revive it why in the hell would they share it with the competition??..

They all get their fair share of shit, its just that the fans of whichever base is doing the worst at any given time are the most vocal and defensive. If you look through vgchartz threads through the years from 2007, you can clearly see the cycles, clear as day.

Nintendo is paying for the game they aren't creatively involved in. As I said, Nintendo lets the third or second parties of the past (Rare) do the dirty games for them. That is Platinum Games baby, but they couldn't afford to continue on with it. If you know Platinum Games titles you can see where this game will go in sales. Reveangence will get at least 1.5- 2 m out of respect for Metal Gear titles and Konami is funding the project. Theres a reason the game isn't cannon and thats because Platinum is making it. No offense, but Bayonettas story was horrible. That came could only be stomached for the over the top DMC style hack n slash.

The problem is partially Nintendos fault and it can have many factors:

- Kiddy image: Microsofts statement that gamers grow up with Nintendo but will graduate to other consoles.
- Not being worried about western means of what makes a game next gen like powerful processors. Being behind hinders third parties in the west from wanting to make games for them on par with the competition.
- The advent of Xbox Live and the Playstation network for the competitive gamer.
- The third party drought that has been going onfor twenty years since the Playstation first arrived. Half the reason the N64 & Gamecube didnt sell that well.
- Nintendo has given up on going head to head with the competition, so they go around them. Even this gen, thats what they are doing.
- Nintendo wont drop the family image they hold onto. Nintendo is a traditionally family company and those who buy their product need to be realistic and realize that. They let the third parties and former second parties do the dirty games for them.
- They refuse to share the playing field with their gamers whom have grown up. No relatable first party for older players. If they want to get that, they have to go to third party. Where as with Sony you get both kiddy, teen and mature characters all in one breath. They refuse to grow up with the older gamers who grew with them.

Nintendo holds a place in all of our hearts, but the problem with Nintendo is an internal one. They chose not to pander to the casuals and for that they will sell half of what the Wii Sold. They need to learn how to satisfy both markets from the start.

This is all very legit reasons and something Nintendo should look in to! Just look at Disney; THE most family oriented company of, like, all time! And still they're catering to all kinds of tastes. Nintendo should really try and learn from Disney.

If Nintendo stock ever got low enough, I wouldn't be shocked if Disney tried to buy a big chunk of Nintendo shares.

They seem to be on a buy-out binge lately.

A Nintendoland at Disney Would fit right in. Mario and Mickey in harmony and it would work. Same crowd, I approve of this.

Disney is a lot more than "just Disney" these days too. They own Marvel Comics. Yes, as in they own Spider-Man and the Avengers and Thor and Dr. Doom and all that. They own Star Wars. And Indiana Jones too.

A "Nintendo Land" at Disneyworld/land would be awesome.

Yes, but Nintendo has long been considered the disney of videogames. Sony is Universal Studios.

Its called damage control and everyone does it. For every doom thread, there is one like this. Its always been the same and every party is guilty.

I think your bayonetta 2 comment is moot as most of them threatened to kill themselves if the game wasnt published on 360/ps3. So I am guessing if they are HARDCORE liek they claim they went through with it.
