MS haven't ever given us software shipment totals (no PR announcement). What conclusion do you draw from that? |
the conclusion that the whole thread is useless as nobody knowbody here knows how many 1mil-sellers x360 has.

sales2099 said: Meh even if it does happen we all know 360 million sellers are at a way higher total number then PS3s. We dont know XBLA vs PSN total numbers, but its common sense that 360 gamers love XBLA way more then PS3 gamers love PSN.I mean, Minecraft is a year old multiplat port and it broke 5 million in 2012. Journey hasn't even breached 1 million (no PR announcement). |
So you're saying no digital game Sony has sold has ever hit a million? Bold statement indeed.
Its so funny that back in 2008 no one ever brought up XBLA titles when Microsoft was beating Sony in retail exclusives. As soon as Sony started beating their annual IP rates they started adding everything under the sun when they know its retail sales and yes Kinect counts. Digital sales cannot easily be followed which is why we always focus on the retail. Desperation is the very reason why...they just cannot stand to see that Sony's in house IP rates are eclipsing Microsoft and eventually a good portion of them will eventually sell a million with decent legs.

Predict when it'll happen, but it will happen this year!

Depending on the costs, $1 million copies sold could not even be enough to break even. This article has it that a title needs to sell 500,000 for every $15 million in development costs (heck, not even factoring in marketing budget probably):

Depending on the cost of games, 1 million sold can be notable or not.

Whether thats true or not one million copies is still a milestone to whether a title is relevant or not. Yes breaking even is important, but this has been going on for years here and no one has argued it when it was favoring Microsoft.

lol Please...back when I was defending Microsoft I didnt count digital titles. Back in the 2005-2008 period Microsoft had a healthy dose of third party exclusives running the show for them.
I remember reading about over 100,000 downloads on FFVII the first week it was released on the PSN store. I bet it has a lot more by now. I voted Q2 anyways.

PS1 and PS2 classics is treated differently. Im talking PSN games made for PS3, like Journey.
The Last of Us will sell over a million
God of war will sell over a million
And I'm hoping Beyon sells over a million (looks awesome)
