74,000 so its basicallly like chrismas shopping for them this week, the orginal wii which is dead did 49,000 lsame time last year, all i'm gonna say is its not looking good for nintendo, i think they will follow sega in a few years.

The 10k drop for WiiU is a very slight concern, but it's more magnified because of the impressive week for PS3. Coming weeks will be really interesting on the home console front.

Dropping in New Years week is bad, Wii U is now starting to significantly trend below the Wii week-for-week in Japan.

For the New Years week in 2007 (the first one for the Wii), it sold 171,000+ and the PS3 sold 70,000 the same week (at that big price tag).

The 3DS is a monster. I think Nintendo made an error by seemingly making the Wii U so Japan-centric -- they don't give a crap about consoles anymore. 

Should've made the Wii successor more tailored to the Western markets.
