Dust 514 is awesome. Even though the closed Beta is very limited, the concept involving the game has never been done before.

Planetside 2 smashes Dust 514 out of the water. When I played Dust the controls were terrible and lag was rediculous. And eve is just a game that caters for the unemployed which makes the interconnectivity pretty lame and I say that as an alliance member with 40 mill sp's of a 0.0 corp

So.. you think you played the whole game from playing the Closed Beta. Okay I gotcha...You're not just saying, you're downplaying.

edit: I'll add that Planetside 2 is only on PC. There is no crossplay between different platforms..

Why would Sony drop Dust 514? I don't understand what you mean by that. What does a game developed by another company have to do with making their own FPS?

Anyway, it's not like it matters that much, not unless Sony is able to win some of the North American market next gen. FPS fans, right now, are on the 360, so it's likely that the Sony would never see the same kind of sales as Halo even if they were able to create a shooter that is superior or equal. It would be a Forza/Gran Turismo situation.

I don't know that the world needs another semi-generic Sci-Fi shooter, anyway. I would only really like to see another FPS come along if it's something original and interesting.

shooters just aren't Sony's game this gen.

i don't think Sony should scrap Dust514. they should give dust a shot, and if it averages out, get the dev's of Dust to create a console shooter.

in-listing former bungie, infinity ward, ect people, doesn't guarantee anything. S.T.A.G.E. wishful thinking isn't your thing.

id say Sony should in-list, Platinum games, Visceral Games, a deal with epic for people can fly, or Crytec.

maybe even get lightbox interactive to create a shooter not related to starhawk.

Wishful thinking? Have you played Halo 4? Microsoft spared no expense to get the best of the best to breathe new life into Halo but keep Halo the way he knew it in gameplay. Dust looks old and dated, exactly like what you would expect from a free to play game. The movement seems clunky amongst other issues. In listing from Bungie and Infinity Ward doesn't guarantee anything, but it gives Sony a fighting chance. Crytek is in good with Microsoft so I dont think they are about to help Sony with anything but yes recruit the top members of those teams who have departed. I'll hire light box interactive to STFU.

Half of the market Microsoft is sitting on currently is a market Sony created. In order to get them back Shooters will have nothing to do with it, but worthy shooters will help to get Americans to look at the PS4 differently from how they generally see the Playstation brand, which is good at everything but FPS.

I've played Dust beta a bit and I was disappointed. The game is for free, but I still don't feel like playing it. The whole idea behind it, the development of classes and stuff is really confusing, though I can see that it should be interesting once you get hold of it, but the gameplay itself is just... bad. Really, the original CoD4: MW is lightyears ahead. If I have a choice to play this for free or buy Halo 4/CoD, I'm gonna go with the latter. This idea behind the game is cool, but gameplay sucks.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Have you played Halo 4? Talk about a game feel outdated. I think the Halo series have lost its magic since Halo 3 and don't believe any other Halo will surpass Halo 3 in sales or critical acclaim.

Resistance is a great franchise that Sony dropped the ball on. Really, when Resistance 1 was released everyone was talking about it and how most people enjoy the story and it sell really well. Then suddenly they turned their attention to KillZone 2 and it was all over the for the Sony 1st party FPS. There is a reason why Resistance sales was a lot better then KillZone 2 because everyone who is not a Sony fan and love FPS knows that Resistance is a better franchise then KillZone to grow on.

I have Halo 4, and I beg to differ. Remember I was one of the guys who was skeptical about Halo 4 until I actually opened my mind to it and played it again after a while. It is still an experience unmatched by PS3 FPS titles and Resistance has been off my radar since part two. The strongest part of Resistance to me is Insomniacs weapons, which are out of this world. Outside of that the mechanics and physics are nowhere on par, the alien models look generic as well. COD and Battlefield run FPS on the PS3, no question about it.

The whole point of a closed beta is stress test, and to give constructive feedback. CCP give you only the essentials to play and test its features. Mind you, CCP is doing something that has never been done on consoles before.

Making complaints like this is premature right now because it is not the full game.. It would be better if you give CCP feedback of whatever displeases you, this goes to the OP too, because Dust 514 have their own forum to give feedback. It doesn't make any sense making a complaint thread here.

Killzone is such a good series. Problem is all the awesome lore is hidden behind an uninspired story. Mechanically and graphically KZ3 is one the best shooters I've played.

Santa Monica are working on a shooter, but it's third person. I want guerilla to move on and work on another FPS. If there's any Sony FP that can create a great FPS it's them.
