How could they hack this already while the 3ds is still not hacked?

Could this be nullified by a system update?

Like Sony and MS, Nintendo might be able to keep the hackers at bay in their online network by banning hacked consoles and regularly releasing new system updates that exchanges the keys and are mandatory for playing online, but playing pirated games and such probably can't be stopped anymore as they seem to be quite far into hacking the WiiU already and even if failoverflow decides to not officially release how they did it, chances are it will be leaked soon anyway.

if it is a proper hack and not just some tool with a youtube app running on the game pad, then if it gets leaked in any way before they're able to fully secure access to the firmware and block updates from removing the hack then it would just allow nintendo fix the flaw and render this hack useless.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

cool if someone makes a new homebrew channel, not cool if wii u becomes a hub for piracy

that would suck, but i don't think the majority of ninty fans would even think to look at pirated games.

well if i recall correctly, i believe Super Mario Galaxy was one of the most pirated games a few years back with over 1.2million downloads according to something :/

EDIT: this is what I was talking about:

all the PS3 hate is unbareable lol. SMG still kicked ass in the sales department through retail, but we both know that's not the point.

This could very easily be fake. What about this says it's hacked? This is NOT a "confirmation." A confirmation needs decisive proof. Just because it's "from some team of hackers" doesn't mean it's confirmed. We need more proof.

What are the odds that this news, and the 7000 stolen Wii U have any connection?

Here's a comparison of the most pirated Wii, 3DS, and PSP games during the same time period.  The family image Nintendo has is the best thing that's going for them and that's why piracy isn't as large on Nintendo's consoles because most parents aren't going to think that their system can crash and play games.  I bet around half the people that purchased their games legitimately on all consoles either didn't know you could pirate or thought it may have been too difficult.  If they knew how easy it was the pirated numbers on all systems would have went up I'm sure.  That's how dishonest people are.

Seems to be a fake.

Fudge you pirates gosh darnet.

Hopefully someday they are stopped. Hackers may say this is just for "NES" emulation but we know what it will lead to.

Eventhough it was the most pirated game, I think really that a hacked system is leading to good sales on the console and if they secure the online play people will still buy their games. Hopefully Nin has secured the online part. If they did, congrats Nin! You will get love from homebrew fans!!

Nintendo can not stop Fail0verflow, the simple fact that the console is already hacked shows that theyre dont have total control on their powerful system.

Eh, no it doesn't. It means that the Wii U isn't very secure, and besides, after the whole remotely bricking the 3DS debacle, I doubt they will take this sitting down. They probably wil release a patch or something.

So this is the real deal and not just the Wii games like a week back or so?

You see a picture on GamePad, which doesn't work in Wii mode. So what do you think?
