Nice Thread

1st let start off by saying pls update in a couple days! (This isnt an arguement lol) One month didn't technically pass intill this week hardware sales are in (week ending Dec15)! So thats what i wanted to say so pls update the OP when results come in. Thank You.

I love the wii u how it is, But i do think its lacking without the major Title (Pikmin 3) and Wonderful 101. Dont get me wrong I love my NSMBU (best one in the series) and ZombiU brings back that true RE style with cool gamepad features, but i think nintendo should of brought 2 more major titles especially Pikmin 3.

The Web Browser is very very nice love it. (using it to talk to all you crazy people) E shop is great, Loading times are a little long but im not impatient! Glad they brought multiplats (COD, AC3, etc) Overall the system is fun and i believe developers can do something amazing with this.

Most anticipated games (even though most wont come intill 2014 sniff...) are Zelda, MKU, Metroid, Star fox, and the best of the best SSB4.

MIIVERSE IS TWITTER FOR NINTENDO.
No trolls because its all Fans on the console and people help you out (i've been helped twice).

I hope sales go up i want this system to pass the wii ( let a man dream) and be #1 next gen!

Best thing is Multiplayer Nintendoland is a blast, and the remote fits in the hand perfect!

Good luck Nintendo and thanks Danne for opening this thread up! Keep It up

I'll update it as soon as we've got the numbers =) It should be well beyond 1.4 now! Probably 1.7m-2m!

I don't really get why everyone thinks Pikmin will be such a great boost for the Wii U... It's a franchise that sell like 1-2m, right? But I think Nintendo will drop a few bombs next year, announcing a few great games!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I think it's doing quite decent, even if Europe could be better. At least in Switzerland it looks like it's available everywhere now and not supply constraint anymore. I saw in our local Saturn that the Deluxe bundle even got a discount already as it is now 399.-- CHF there and not 439.-- CHF as it was at Launch. But that is probably only this chain that's doing that. I still do have some troubles with the network, because the MiiVerse and the shop for example are always only available for the first 10 mins when i start up the WiiU. Afterwards it can't connect anymore and it says that the server couldn't be found... It's really kinda annoying! I don't know if my WIFI is too far away from the console, but my PS360 are at the same distance and i don't have any problems there.

Also i still miss some functions like statistics what games your friends have played, not only what they are currently playing or something like achievements. I know thats probably not gonna happen, but i still think it would be great to have.

But good start overall and i'm hoping Nintendo is going to improve the WiiU from here on. I'm sure it will be a decent success, even if it might not make Wii numbers in the end!

It's doing great in most parts, but it could have been better.

I blame the name.

As a system it is outstanding. I can't wait for vacation to start on Friday.

As far as sales, it is also doing very well. They are selling everything they are making. The difference between Wii and WiiU sales is basically slower manufacturing. Now, at the same time I don't think there is the same crazy demand as there was for Wii, but that isn't impacting sales yet and won't for the first 5 million or so. Nintendo needs to build some hype, but they have 6 months to a year to do it. I know the first time I have a party and girls are picking songs off YouTube to play on the sounds system using the touchscreen GamePad, there will be a number of people going home wanting one. Espeically knowing that Mario and COD are also on there. That word of mouth will build demand.

Excluding Monster Hunter and ZombiU, 3rd party software sales are abysmal. Third parties might withdraw from the system even earlier than for Wii, not to mention the fact that porting PS4/X720 games will be even harder. WiiU's game library will suffer from that and it will hamper its success in the long run.

After 1 month on the market and well over 1.4 million units sold, how is the Wii U doing?

The best selling games so far are NintendoLand (albeit bundled) and NSMBU, followed by (would you believe it?!) a 3rd party game; ZombiU. Most of the other 3rd party games aren't doing as well as ZombiU, and there's still some concerns that Wii U won't be fully backed by 3rd parties. Heck, there's even some concerns that Wii U won't be able to run next-gen games at all!

So what do you guys think? How IS the Wii U doing, and how do you think it will continue to do?! Discuss!

to date nintendo has only released two retail games...

"Most of the other 3rd party games aren't doing as well as ZombiU"

We don't know the eShop sales, so we don't know how the games sell. To count retail games only to measure success is dated and wrong.

If I speak with people who bought a Wii U they all said they bought games from the eShop. 1 or 2 big games (that are also available on retail) and a lot of small ones on top of 1-2 retail games they bought along the console.

I blame the name.

I blame the marketing.

I don't know if the WiiU ads that air here on TV are the same as the rest of Europe (or even USA), but I've seen 6 different ads and in 4 of them the people were shown playing with a wiimote before someone else picked the gamepad.

And in 2 of those ads the game shown is NSMBU, which looks like the Wii game in that ad, so the message some people get is that the WiiU is just an add-on for the Wii in the form of the gamepad.

OT. The console is doing good. The sales in Europe are a bit worrysome, but in the other 2 markets it is doing well enough.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

I think its doing fine although It should be doing better cause Christmas is coming up.
I'm certainly considering purchasing one once it releases where I live.

There needs to be an option for 'exactly as much as I was hoping for' :P
