Is the Wii U the worst console ever? Or does another console hold that spot for you?

 

For me it would have to be either the Saturn or the Gamecube.

The Saturn is an underappreciated classic, the Gamecube is a minor success and the Wii U has yet to prove one way or the other if it will be trash or a classic. My guess is with Mario, Zelda, and Metroid it won't be trash.

With abysmal systems like the Atari Jaguar, CD-I, Virtual Boy, Pippin and R-Zone the stellar libraries of games on the Saturn and Gamecube keep them safe from such a list.

Worst high profile consoles would have to be Sega CD, Sega 32x, Atari Jaguar and Phillip's CDi although that wasn't entirely marketed as a video game console first, so maybe the CDi gets a pass and falls into the same category as the Apple Pippin and 3DO as failed consumer electronics entertainment boxes (overpriced, "not a video game console" consoles).

What made all those awful was lack of or poor software support, something that will not be an issue for the Wii U as at bare minimum, it will see a catalog of top quality Nintendo releases throughout its life cycle.

Didn't bother to give the article a hit by reading it. He probably be trollin'.

Eternal Darkness and Luigis Mansion were fun. Mario Sunshine was sort of a bust though. I also was happy to get Resident Evil on the system. At the time they were the best versions ever. But beyond that I was left wanting more. Wind Waker was good, but not the best Zelda. I think it had the same problem Skyward sword had. It was just too different.

Sunshine is fun. and Wind Waker had some of the most personality of the Zelda games, and two words Metroid Prime

and Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door, Super Smash Bros. Melee and maybe more that I am not remembering at the moment

also pikmin 1 and 2, animal crossing, viewtiful joe 1 and 2 (and don't forget twilight princess was actually a gc game as well!)...the gamecube wasn't bad at all and I definately had more fun with it than the wii...less granny games ;). If wii u is only as good as the cube it'll be mighty fine in my eyes!

 

Btw I think this article must've been written by some smelly old fat guy who really needs to get laid! C'mon, I expect more class.

That is crazy, especially your topic is just a magnet for trolling posed as a question, and the Saturn or Gamecube? No way. I loved my Saturn, Dragon Force, Working Designs as a whole? The Gamecube also was no where near a bad console. You want a worst console ever, you look at the Virtual Boy, or maybe the Wonderswan.

Whilst your point was a very good one, I would question the part I left there ^. Lots of people HAVE tried all WoW expansions.

Lame Article Is lame.
The Wii U is Brand new, And I'm having tons of fun on it, It's easly becomming my favorite System at the moment, I havent Even turned on my PS3 and Vita or 3DS in days lol.
One thing I do hate from the Wii U is the OS man, it's slower than a slug, Nintendo needs to speed it up a bit.

The Sega Cd and 32x were addons not consoles. By your standard the Atari Jaguar CD attachment would be the worest system of all time.

But you are right that they all had poor game support. Although the Sega CD had classics like Lunar 1 and 2, Popful Mail, Sonic CD, Shinning Force CD, Monkey Island, SIlpheed and a few others.

I think the Sega CD gets a bad rap.
