Forums - Sony Discussion - Is the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion any good?

Tagged games:

I am confused, from what I have heard Oblivion is much better than Skyrim particularly in the story and sidequest department. I have played Skyrim and found the game to be too easy but also incredibly boring. The most fun I had in Skyrim were abusing the glitches and exploits. I am hoping to pick up Oblivion because the lore of the Elder Scrolls series seems interesting and I had been hearing that Oblivion is the better game.

I enjoyed Oblivion at the time but I never got sucked into it like I did with Skyrim and Fallout 3. The arena was my favorite part, I didn't really care about the rest of the game.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Morrowind>Skyrim>Oblivion (though due to your complaints about Oblivion, I do not think you would enjoy morrowind either)

oblivion is miles better than skyrim in my opinion, beat oblivion over 6 times on the ps3.

Now I've got passed the step down in graphics and the funky (aka weird) levelling system, I'm loving the game. Thanks for all the opinions/ advice. Just to let you know I'm having a blast :)

Glad to hear your enjoying the game.

I personally prefer the quests in Oblivion although I prefer the gameplay in Skyrim. The guild quests are generally better in Oblivion, especially the Mages guild quests vs College of Winterhold which was way too short. The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild quests were some of my personal faves though.

Insanely fun with mods that gets rid of the retarded elastic monster level system. And of course other mods that add content.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Its only quality was its huge, sprawling world with fantastic visuals. That was in 2006. Now, the game really isn't worth your time. Almost every gameplay element is broken or simply not much fun.

Speak for yourself, I love roaming around and doing random stuff in Cyrodil.
