Forums - Nintendo Discussion - why nintendo doesn't add online multiplyer mode to the mario games

In a game like Mario Bros. the timing to jump is VERY important. Only a little bit of lag while playing online can heavily disturb this. Yes, LittleBigPlanet has online, but have you noticed the amount of lag in that game? Also, jumping isn't that strategic in LBP like it is in Mario Bros.

Excuses, excuses. You are nearly as bad as Nintendo. In shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield, accuracy is of the uttmost importance, yet they still manage to make massive maps, vehicles and no lag. Nintendo are incompetent at an online system. The Wii U proves this, it is still years behind xbox and ps3 when it comes to online infrastructure and os design.

I don't see the fun in plying with someone online. MP at home is the best with Mario! I've had so much fun with the family!

do you even own a WiiU and NSMBU?

do you even have anything Nintendo?

same room co-op >> online co-op >>>>>> no co-op at all.

a lack of online support is extrodinarily depressing to me in this day and age.  for most games made today it makes a good game boring game.  if you have a family that likes playing multi-player that's great.  but i have no kids, my wife isn't into video games, and my friends don't live in my house.  no online support for multiplayer modes means no multiplayer for me which means the game is basically garbage.

Holy shit, we have a rocket scientist. All platforms by nature require good timing.

@Roma: dude chill the fuck out. Passive aggressive much?

OT: I have no idea. It would make sense that sometimes you cannot play local MP with friends (which I agree it's the best way to play it), due to a huge number of reasons. You would think such an important and iconic franchise would include online on its 2D iterations. If LBP can pull it off, there is no reason why these high quality, "innovative" mario games can't. Period.

Although the MiiVerse/Dark Souls message tips are a cool addition.

Well, look at all the pro nintendo swag you got rocking on you. It would not be hard to believe you adore all things nintendo and would take offense to somebody applying basic logic and/or reasoning for a nintendo game's shortcomings.

If you were legitimately joking around then disregard my post.

but I guess that's when they finely release an online Mario lol

Nintendos first party doesnt need it. The only game that could probably use it but still wouldnt is metroid and that isnt enough. The old school mentality runs that company, which means gaming in front of the couch with the family.

I heard Nintendo games sell by word of mouth when played together in the same room. It's how that Wii madness spread.
