Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does it seem like the vita is getting more games than the 3ds?

Maybe it's because they celebrate every single obscure niche game even if it hasn't any chance of releasing outside of japan. I don't care for games like Senran Kagura on either platform but it is very funny how the shinovi game is treated as the second coming of our big busted lord jesus christ around here.

Honestly man, when I first saw this post I thought it was hilarious and then got increasingly more worried as people kept replying with "this".  I mean, are you genuinely being serious?  If not, I apologise for this rant in advance.

It's alright for VicViper to get excited about every single Japanese 3DS game, then, but suddenly posting news of Japanese Vita announcements in the official thread for Vita suddenly makes it "celebrating every single obscure niche game" as if it's the "second coming".

Take a moment to get down off your pedestal and get real.  I mean heck, I read Siliconera and the Vita thread.  Put two and two together to make 4, not 5, and you'lll realise they're just responding to this news.  Feel free to go into the Vita thread and see if you can find people getting excited about playing Senran Kagura.  I think you'd struggle.  Ironically, there are a few people in the thread who have expressed an interest in importing various titles because they can actually do that since the console isn't region locked.  Giving each Japanese announcement slightly more traction than an obscure 3DS announcement.

Look at it logically.  Vita is generally regarded as having no games.  Vita selling poorly in Japan.  Vita gets a shit load of announcements for Q1 in Japan.  People in the Vita thread are generally owners and fans of the console.  Do you think they're perhaps more hopeful about these games helping Vita gain traction in Japan so a few bigger names come to the console that have more chance of being localised in the future?  Perhaps they're just looking forward to the console getting some sort of sales spike in Japan next year (this is a sales site after all)?  And there are inevitably a few posters in that thread who are fans of Japanese games and bought a region-free handheld so should be free to celebrate these announcements if they wish.

Or not, since it seems to bother quite a lot of people.

I do look forward to Senran Kagura

Vita got great hardware and its gonna show some good looking visuals in next year which will overshade the 3DS games and 3DS won't have enough power to get that much quality after next year & gets outdated.

VITA GOT QUALITY and 3DS HAS QUANTITY.

People love quality over quantity and its just one game like Journey is enough to please the purchase of Vita.

A lot of the PS Vita library is made up of ports.

You really must be new if you think good looking visuals is what determines the quality of a system.  If this were something to go by, Nintendo wouldn't have went with making a cheaper system that uses a feature that eats up a fairly large amount of resources.  Vita has power, so does the 3DS.  The Vita just has more of it, so the options on the table are slightly larger than the 3DS, but the truth of the matter is that the 3DS is capable of getting downports of Vita games.  The difference isn't so large that it wouldn't even be a possibility.  Of course, who wants to play a downport of a game that's better on the original?  Well, that's the argument against the Vita as well, since a lot of PS3 ported games are coming to it... downported games.

I do not think it would be fair to compare the quality of the great games on both the 3DS and Vita, though, as anyone who argues this will be biased.

Oh, Spurg you're such a troll.
I give this thread a 9/10

This type of comment should be bannable, imo.

I don't even want to see your other 3 posts here in VGChartz, as users usually evolve posting... and if this is your current level...

(don't judge other people's "quality" standard, please)

It has more games, simple as that. The problem is the price of the system but once sony fixes that, it should sell a bit more.

Someone once told me that Sony has every right to make money off of their stuff. Like selling PSV memory at a hefty price and is the right decision. Why should they cut the price of PSV when they are already losing money on it?

Eh? Vita costs $150-160 to manuacture, how are they losing money on it? Apart from making back the R&D costs of course.

so you say 3ds only has quantity and no quality but vita has? and what people love can be seen by current sales-charts. hint: it's not the vita...

As proven by the Vita's sales.

...

Gameplay and level design is what makes a title timeless. Visuals will always get outdated, eventually.

Don't mistake games with good games. Quality games the 3DS has more games and we don't know the release schedule for 2013. We will learn more about that in the future.

Most games pfft. In that case I guess iphones are the best mobile style of gaming after all....
