Ironically, there are a few people in the thread who have expressed an interest in importing various titles because they can actually do that since the console isn't region locked. Giving each Japanese announcement slightly more traction than an obscure 3DS announcement. Look at it logically. Vita is generally regarded as having no games. Vita selling poorly in Japan. Vita gets a shit load of announcements for Q1 in Japan. People in the Vita thread are generally owners and fans of the console. Do you think they're perhaps more hopeful about these games helping Vita gain traction in Japan so a few bigger names come to the console that have more chance of being localised in the future? Perhaps they're just looking forward to the console getting some sort of sales spike in Japan next year (this is a sales site after all)? And there are inevitably a few posters in that thread who are fans of Japanese games and bought a region-free handheld so should be free to celebrate these announcements if they wish. Or not, since it seems to bother quite a lot of people. |
