I believe it is possible to make games that are both very popular/successful AND that are good games, instant classics, but it takes hard work and a lot of talent. Nintendo doesn't have any of that, so instead the question is how can they get money with what they do have.

What?  If Nintendo doesn't have it, then no one else is even close.

That's what I believe, yes.

I would say Nintendo has had several of what I would call instant classics over the past gen or two.  I can see how some would disagree though.

I love how he wants Nintendo to offer other controllers types instead of forcing 1 controller on the player and acts like that's not what they're doing... when that's what they're doing. Your wii remotes and the wii's other accessesories (balance board, nuncucks etc.) are compatible with the Wii U, plus there's also the Wii U classic controller pro to boot.  So what more does he want?

What is the point of your reply? No one said a Zelda in this style would be nearly as commercially successful as 2D Mario. The "New" is simply just part of the title like "Super".

What mattered was that it was a throwback to an older style of play with up to 4-player co-op, just like NSMB.

Have you played it? It's nothing like old-style Zelda, hence "New" is not applicable to it the same way SMB DS is "New...".

Yes, I have played quite a bit of it. Your description is also incorrect. Four Swords is another 2D Zelda, this time with up to 4 player co-op multiplayer, similar to how New Super Mario Bros is 2D Mario with Co-op multiplayer. New Super Mario Bros 2 on 3DS is similar to the 4 Swords game in that one of the primary goals is to collect as much currency as possible.

The title "New Super Mario Bros" is merely a brand name, there hadn't been any other original 2D Mario games released in over a decade and that's why the brand name was chosen. You are simply confused over a brand name; the game was branded as Four Swords instead of New Legend of Zelda.

The bottom line is that there has already been new 2D Zelda in recent years in the form of the Four Swords games and Minish Cap, and ironically the first Four Swords games actually came out 2.5 years before New Super Mario Bros. and was the very game that stirred interest in a new 2D Mario game to begin with.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
