If you are going to blame America for the recession, you should probably thank us for the last 10 years of unprecedented economic growth.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.

@ dbot & while we are at it for a free Europe for the last 60 years. Alas these anti American / anti Israel types are beyond hope.
I am not really interested in selling videogames when I am 40, and have started to put together a resume in the past few weeks to start my job hunt. I like my job, but it is not really where I want to be. Finding a better job could be.. problematic... if the economy stays sour. Still, if I don't start now when will I?
Just saying that by wishing ill on my country you are wishing ill on many normal people just going through their lives.

Sorry but America is practically the reason terrorists are a threat in the first place. On top of that, the American government pretends that this threat is even bigger than it already is. Face it: good citizens are supposed to live in fear. And we'd probably do just the same for the US, since most European governments are the dogs of Bush anyway.
By the way this is of course the fault of the American government, and not of its people!
I drink your milkshake.
ok, i might have went to far in my 'anger', as you can call it... But the point made in the first few posts of me are clear and i think have a basis that is true.
So, srry if i offended anyone or went to far.... I take all the blame. Just look at the first few posts of this thread... (Mainly the original post).

You have to include that the US used falsified information to convince the UN. I wouldn't call a nation that uses its military against innocent civilians a responsible democracy. I gaurantee you that most oil companies are investing really hard in renewables |

We haven't had a good president since Reagan. and I'm not very impressed with ANY of the current candidates. and this is the year I can finally vote in a presidential election too... |
Interesting claim from someone who wasn't ALIVE when reagan was president, and who was, what, 10? when the current president took office.
Do you believe everything your parents tell you?
I will be the first to admit that America is in the crapper at the moment, but to blame all of this on the US seems far from fair. How much Domestic oil does europe produce? The US is the only country importing from China? Wasn't GB there at the initial invasion of Iraq?
We live in a world where politicians rarely make decisions based on what is best for the country. This isn't unique to the United States.
But its nice to live in a Country where all media isn't reviewed by the government and many times banned (see Manhunt 2) or one which doesn't hold on to an outdated monarchy, or ban religions, regardles of how stupid they are, or crack down on free speech using public order laws.
None of our respective nations are with out fault, or stupid people. The global trend needs to change in which those elected are viewed less as in a position of power and more in a position of a public servant.

There seems to be a lot of anti-Americanism in this thread. While yes, America has problems that sometimes take a very long time to fix, Europe has problems too, though not the same ones. Please don't blame the problems that the government has caused on the people living there. We didn't ask for all of these "fixes". The first step to recovery will be balancing the budget, and repealing the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts.
It will suck if Bush's plan to "help" gets through. Last time this happenned, people either put it in their savings or paid down some debt. It did absolutely nothing to stimulate the economy.
