It's not really that lower btw

. I mean seriously 40k units guys? Way to overhype this crap. They will make up those sales via word of mouth and the fact that It's Halo 4, a numbered title in the series. It will outsell Reach in the long run, maybe not Halo 3 but MS will be profiting fo sho.

Unlikely. Legs will be cut short by a new Xbox and increasing competition from Call of Duty, Battlefield...etc.

Halo isn't the biggest FPS out there anymore, and it shows.

The new XBox won't be out for another year, that's plenty of time for Halo 4 to sell well.

Halo hasn't been the biggest fps since Modern Warfare 2. It's the second biggest FPS behind COD. That's old news.

It's just that simple.

Yes but Halo 4 launched in November when nobody want to buy games. While Halo reach and Halo 3 launched in September that is a totally better period..

Ok sales are just horrible but what to expect from not a top game? =p

That's about to be expected. Like I said, initial sales will probably be lower but it's going to have really good word of mouth which will help get it over the 10 million mark.

This makes me a sad panda.

I've been spreading the word amongst people I know and I've already persuaded 3 people to buy it who haven't bought it on launch day.

Anyway, there's no doubt about whether this will be a long-term success or not. Word of mouth will be massive! Quality sells

Still gunna reach your prediction lol

Halo isn't the biggest FPS out there anymore? This statement implies that there was a time in which Halo was the most popular FPS which simply isn't the case. Half-Life and Counter-Strike (especially CS) always outsold Halo.

Relatively speaking it is significantly lower.

AAA game sales have increasingly become more front-loaded by every year. Pre-order and first week numbers have increasingly become inflated and don't correlate to projected lifetime sales in the same way they did for older games.

First week sales of 340K in 2013 means much less lifetimes sales than 360k did in 2007.

Halo 4 has 0 chance to pass 10 million now.

In a year when Hollywood is rolling out its biggest blockbusters, one video game has eclipsed them all. “Halo 4” is on track to reach $300 million in global sales in the first week, making it the biggest “Halo” launch in history and the biggest entertainment launch of the year to date. In the first 24 hours of its release, “Halo 4” garnered more than $220 million worldwide, eclipsing the record for the biggest day-one opening in U.S. box office history, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” and the biggest movie of 2012, “The Avengers” – based on U.S. sales alone.

The launch of “Halo 4” propelled lifetime sales for the “Halo” franchise beyond $3.38 billion, cementing its status as one of the most popular entertainment franchises in the world. “Halo 4” also shattered the record for the largest number of players in the history of the “Halo” franchise, with over 4 million players in the first five days. Users spent a total of 31.4 million hours playing “Halo 4,” pushing the total number of gameplay hours across the “Halo” franchise well beyond the five billion mark.

Dammit lol

Kowen and the rest of you, this may sound like a cop out but honestly, honestly I'm happy for Halo.

After all, I bought both the original Xbox and the X360 solely for Halo.
