Forums - Gaming Discussion - Finished Uncharted 3 and sold PS3 in 15mins lol (easier than Craigslist or Ebay)

There's a saying my peoplez say, actually it wasn't really a saying... anyway we call people who sell things and easily settle for less, bitter merchants. "Tajir murR" ask your arabic wife, she'll tell ya.

The person who purchased it got a great deal. Kudos to him. What were the 7 games?

Your grudge against Sony and Apple is something I find very entertaining.

How did I "settle for less"?

Games were:

  • Battlefield 3 (bought new but all DLC was free) worth ~$20
  • Uncharted 3 (bought used for $30) worth ~$20
  • Little Big Planet 2 (bought new for $20) worth $15
  • Little Big Planet (free digital copy) worth $10
  • Dead Nation (free digital copy) worth $5
  • Assassin's Creed (free digital copy when I bought ACRev) worth $5
  • Flow (free digital copy) worth $5
250GB console with 1 controller: worth $180 alone
2nd controller (bought off ebay $20 2yrs ago) worth $20
Total real value of all items.... $280 or so. So maybe I "lost" $30? I doubt it. I didn't have to pay fees or Ebay/Paypal... deal with unknown person... or sit on it for days on Craigslist.
I sold it at a fair price and I got good money back to spend on a future purchase I value FAR more than the PS3 and everything I had in it.

I have nothing against Sony. Otherwise I would never have purchased one... or the Sony TV and various other hardware of theirs I own or have owned.

I prefer Nintendo due to the IPs. I like a very high % of their first party content while I can only think of one or two Sony IPs I like... same with MS. Therefore I choose Nintendo hardware first and others only if its needed for 3rd party games.

I dislike Apple due to their locked in nature of their business model combined with the overpriced products. The products themselves are very nice, I just choose to never own any.

Furthermore, I didn't write this OP to really discuss Sony vs Nintendo. I wrote it because I thought it was funny that I was able to sell it so quickly after beating the game. I figured it would take a few days. In fact the only Sony slam I have here is really my joke post to Rol.

Should have at least kept your PSN...

For what? I have no intention of owning another Sony console and part of the value was the digital games DLC multiplayer on BF3, etc.

I will only buy another nonNintendo console if what happened to Wii, happens to WiiU... and that won't be for at least 3 years.. and then who knows what I'd get if anything. May just upgrade whatever PC I have then and just use Steam.

I wouldn't trust third parties with Nintendo hardware to say the truth.

Very true. But I have a few years for that and if I do get another console at that time I'll just reevaluate between the neXtBox, PS4, or PC upgrade.

But why give away psn ID? Are u guaranteed not to get a ps4, I'm sure psn IDs will be transferrable. But great that you managed a hassle free sale.

Selling PS3 is not a smart decision when Last of Us and God of War are still coming.

Yet i can see some people got bored of this gen i cant blame you.

Hopefully Wii U brings it back!

That's....weird.
Why sell the PS3 to buy a Wii U? Do you not have a job? Do you not see there are more games out there than just Uncharted 3?

I only bought it to play the 3rd party games that were not coming on Wii due to the ignorance of those publishers. The only game I'll be missing is Uncharted and meh not that big of a deal. I find it weird that people keep and eventually just store these things vs selling them to recycle that money.

I do have a job and actually make over six figures, but why keep a system that will not be used much and will lose value?

What the hell man... a real man baby would buy every console with every game with that kind of money. You're a fraud superchunk!!

This is kinda funny I think. I mentioned before that I was going to sell my PS3 and eventually my Wii since I'm buying a WiiU. So tonight I finally got around to finishing Uncharted 3 (good game, but ending was the easiest of any of them and not as good).

As credits were still rolling I went to FB and posted, "YAY! Finally finished Ucharted 3... and with that, anyone want a 250GB PS3 with 7games, my PSN ID, and two wireless controllers for $250?"

Within 15 mins a old school friend wanted and I was headed out my door with it all packaged back up in the box to sell for the $250. Man that was faster than anything I've sold on Craigslist or Ebay.

With that, I now have $250 more for my WiiU purchase. I figure I'll copy all Wii data over, wipe Wii, and try to sell it with a couple controllers and a few games for $100. Might have to negotiate on that one depending on the games I toss in. I have a lot to give that I or my kids don't play anymore.

I am still finding it hard to see a point to this thread?
