Pre-ordered on PS3 so I get both versions.

boxed stages, clash of artstyles, retarded meter system, the final roster, donte,etc.
The metagame will be poor.
I aprecciate the effort but the smash series set a standard.

I preordered it as soon as I was able to play the beta at an expo. The game is good, people are just upset. If you ever liked Smash Bros and you have a PS3 or Vita, get this game. It's not exactly like it but it is still a party beat em up.

This game looks great plus Uncharted, GOW, infamous, killzone, locoroco, patapon, ratchet and clank, resistance, and littlebigplanet make it a super buy. I honestly don't see how any playstation fan could be upset with the list but whatever. (heck nathan drake alone makes it a must buy)

I know I'm going to end up getting it during Christmas because I'm a sucker for the type of game that it is (museum of gaming history + fighter) but I still think that just because we wanted a fighting game similar to smash bros with play station characters it didn't have to be a copy paste job in exactly the same vein, it wouldn't have taken too much to make it a 3d fighter more akin to Bushido blade or Biofreaks I mean those were still great fighting games but also had platforming in them to get advantages over the other players, I think Sony just took it too literally that people wanted Sony smash bros which is a shame, I still can't wait to see what kinda hall of fame or sticker/trophy hall this game is gonna have, given its on a 25gb disk there should be an absolute shed load of music/fmvs/character models from other psgames in there.

I will be preordering, but I don't preorder a long time in advance. I don't see the point, personally.

I think it looks great, but that doesnt mean I'm not irritated with the miscommunication regarding the roster. They led us to believe more characters were being announced. First of all, they said months ago there will be OVER 20 characters. Most ppl figured at least 22-24.

Two frustrating things also happened after the current roster was already announced:
1. They promised more character reveals at TGS. Never happened.
2. In a recent video series (serving the purpose of showing more about many of the characters) done by IGN and Seth Killian, SK talked about how one of the great things about PSASBR was that, not only are ps3 and ps2 characters represented well, but there is also great representation for ps1. He then says something like "just wait. You'll see". Once again, no denying that this is a promise of more character reveals, specifically making u think Crash and Spyro were soon going to be announced.

One of the kost annoying things is the fact that they have multiple unnecessary, minimally known characters in the roster. Many people were only okay withtm this bc we thought they were actually going to include all the biggest, well known characters. But of course they didnt. Just feels like a huge missed opportunity.

Anyways, just had to get that off my chance. Think I'm still going to really enjoy this, but its just unfortunate there had to be so much frustration and disappointment.
