Revolution! I say we get Joethebro to hack the site and ban all the current mods. It'll be like the French Revolution, except without all the beheading.

Anyways, that Pezus ban was ridiculous. He got banned for joking about the site? It's his wall, he should be able to say whatever he wants.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=160420

It's all quite clear in this thread:

"From this point on mod criticism in any public form will not be allowed with a few exceptions. We have a dedicated mod performance thread where we've allowed users to come in and reasonably state their case publicly if they feel it sets a new precedent and what not. We have a monthly ban thread where rules of discussion are specifically laid out. These are the ONLY public forums for mod criticism we will allow from now on. Anything in the form of threads, posts, wall posts, wall comments, article comments, game page comments, etc. will no longer be welcome. "

So it's against forum rules to talk about moderation on walls. That's the rules, and I'm sure pezus was aware of them given the countless warnings that have been given out as of late. Hence the ban was given, and understandably so. I agree that they should be part of the official forum rules on the top of the page but unfortunately I don't see that happening right now; though it doesn't make the rules in that thread any less official.

He made a joke, if it was a little sensitive then you should have just asked him to delete. IMO a ban is going too far.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Remember, he has just come back from another ban for the same thing (discussing moderation on the forums). So doing the same thing will obviously be treated more severely.

And, to me, comparing the site to Nazi Germany is never acceptable. Regardless of it's location.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

No.  It's Ioi's wall.  Like the whole website.  What people seem to forget is that websites are privately owned property.  Posting here is a priveledge not a right...

and when people outright defy moderators, there is nothing that can be done except a moderation.

People should read the TOS.

He didnt get banned for joking about the site, he got banned for likening the site to Nazi Germany and the mods team to the Gestapo. Just not in as many words.

See, this is a part of the problem we have had recently. Ill admit, its been primarily popping up over the last few days due to the PS Nation thread. People need to understand that no matter where they post on the site, it comes under the rule set. It doesnt matter if its on a specific users wall. It doesnt matter if its on a game wall. It doesnt matter if its on a sales article.

Everything you type comes under the rule set.

Like I said earlier, to some people the whole "Nazi" thing may be seen as a joke. To other people, there is nothing more offensive. He knew exactly what he was doing with that wallpost.

Does the e-mail address mods@vgchartz.com still work? I vaguely remember that it was said to be dead. If that's the case, then right now banned users have no way to object to a lengthy ban without signing up with an alt account. For example, NobleTeam360 recently got a five day ban handed to him which defied the progressive moderation system. Users must have an option to appeal their bans while they are still banned.

Another thing: One moderator must quote this post from yesterday and ask Max for a link. I have a suspicion that it's going to be funny.

Not sure if it works actually. Though, I would have to assume it's best to simply PM the relevant mod personally. That e-mail could easily go to ioi, for example.

Also I saw that thing on your wall Rol. No way am I going to ask for a link after that...

That was already updated a while back as far as Im aware. From the rule set -

Reporting Content. If you think a thread or post needs moderator attention then you can let us know by clicking "report this post" and telling us what the problem is. If things need to go further, send a PM to any of our fine moderators. Naturally, we as moderators do not read every post in every thread, and appreciate a helpful head's up from readers when something untoward is going on. If you have a problem with a moderator, send that moderator a private message, and if you are still dissatisfied, send a private message to axumblade, the Lead Moderator. If you are banned and cannot login, email mods@vgchartz.com with your issue and you will get a response from the Lead Moderator. Do not post these issues in the forums, outside of moderator-sanctioned threads, or on the moderator’s wall - doing so may result in moderation action against you.

It says axumblade in the rules. Without asking him personally, I cant say anything more than that. If it still goes back to Machina, then yeah. Thats a major problem.

I forgot about Max. Your wall was funny Yesterday.

I'm sure they have all kinds of bullshit excuses for them even in this case. And I'm sure if I actually bothered depressing myself by scrolling through all these recent responses, I'd see some."

A post I reported multiple times in September.... Guess what post didn't get moderated and deemed okay by the mods.

This was the post that got me to PM Kantor in the first place. A post Kantor didn't respond to. I assume he thinks it's appropriate

But hey, they are consistent... right?

Do you have a link for this post, Max?

I Googled it, but every search I do just comes back to your post here.

You would think with the amount of people disagreeing with you all that there might possibly be a problem with what you all are trying to do. But hey we are just the users that make this site. Sure VGC is a privilege and not a right, but then again if we leave then there really isnt much of a VGC after that. So is it we support the community or push them away? Obviously listening to the community isnt much of a debate these days.

Using this outrage of a dozen or so users as any barometer on the entire community's views on the matter is ill-advised. Those that have no complaints will be silent; such is the human condition. By that metric one could deduce that for each complaining user in here there are over 9000 users that are completely satisfied. Is that a complete simplification and a gross twist of reality? Yes; but so is your suggestion.

Then tell us the damn problems.

We are here, listening. Thats what this thread is for. All Im hearing out of you is that you dont like it that we have a designated, sticky thread for mod discussion. Quite clearly that aint the only problem, so let it all out.

Id be willing to be if we posted this problem on VGC more people would be against the mods than the "few" that came in here.  But hey theyll ban you for doing that as well.  We can just look at a thread i made recently where a big number of people didnt agree with how the mods handled something.  INstead of apologizing to the community, they banned me xD  Multiple people comes in here to protest the mods on Pezus's ban (which seems to be a rare occurence in a thread that is mostly inactive) yet again the mods ignore the issue people are having.
