Analog face buttons suck so much that I had to use a PS1 controller to brake properly in Gran Turismo 4.

It's not right to always brake at 100% (which is what I'm assuming happens with non-pressure sensitive controllers)...

Watch the telemetry of a F1 race. They always brake 100%. The problem was that I had to press very hard to brake 100%, and since the game doesn't allow you to calibrate the buttons...

Can I get a video of an F1 race? I'm not too familiar with that sport, so maybe they're allowed to use ABS. But any car without ABS will lock its wheels if you brake too hard, and the driver does not want that.

ABS have been banned in F1 since 1994, I think. You can see them locking the brakes in races. Qualifying example:

Edit: They use carbon brakes which are almost impossible to control with the pedal. Of course they calibrate the brakes accordingly to each track.

What does that mean? And I didn't really see the wheels locking in that video. When did it happen?

With carbon brakes, you brake... or don't. There's no middle term.

If you want to see brakes locking (at 1:01):

The xbox controller does have pressure sensitive on the triggers. The 360 controller its great, except for the dpad, that i dont use anyway. And for me, better than the ps3s controller, just feels better in the hands, and many people i know thinks que same way.

End of 2011 (made 02/01/11)
Wii: 99.453 m
Xbox 360: 67.837 m
Ps 3: 60.726 m

Best Games/Serie of the Generation

I couldn't care less for pressure sensitive buttons. I'd much rather have the X360's concave triggers, and to a lesser extent, its left stick placement.

Anyone try playing NFS (or any other racer) on PS3? You either use the trigger as your gas button, or you use the pressure sensitive buttons for it... i.e. the choice between being uncomfortable and having your fingers slide off the triggers while you play, or being forced to push so hard on the pressure sensitive buttons that you can't play for more than a minute at a time.

They're great for driving games, I prefer the buttons for acceleration and braking and the triggers for gears as it simulates flappy paddle gears.

If your playing a racing game with the choice to map the right stick as gas and break you're crazy, I've played people in gt that swear by the buttons or the l and r button, and they could never beat me. Far more control with the right stick.

How can you tell the brakes locked? If brakes lock, the wheel locks, the tire locks => smoke.

You can see smoke from the front right wheel at 1:01, and from the front left wheel of the Ferrari at 1:12...

Depends on your own preference, mine being an Xbox controller. Feels more natural for me..

Right. Because you can judge what's best when you use your own opinion for stating all the pro points.
Just like my mouse is the best because I like it best.

edit: guy above said it

When I played Crysis 2 on Ps3. I keep on accidentally pressing the melee button instead of shooting the gun. Same experience for my friends that I played with over PSN.

I play alot of FPS on both platforms (Depending on what my friends play on). This kind of implication never happened to my 360 controller.

Yay!!!
