Geez way to respond to an old post. And as I've already said, that's why I put it in brackets so it's up to you to use that sentence how you see fit.

e.g. My sister has (a) nice dog(s)...that works for singular or plural. That's what I was doing in my original post so you can leave it as lifestyle, or lifestyle choice. Get it?

but it's not up for debate, it's not a choice, it's biologically inherent in some

Why am I not surprised the turned into a Religious Argument?

it's about the atrocities committed against gays...considering there are no 'anti-gay' arguments that aren't religiously motivated, it's hard to have an argument that isn't simply "Gays are cool, but I'm not interested" and that's the end.

I always thought gays were well accepted and seen just as any other person in the develop countries, I guess I was wrong.

Thinking a little bit about it, I have a friend of mine who used to live in Belgium, and he was very surprised about how open and how normal we were about it. Obviously there are people who still see gays as the devil, but that is going to change with the time.

One can only hope anyway. We do seem to be on the right track. As in any civil rights issue, it has to get worse before it gets better. When I hear the stories of them setting gay ppl on fire in the south when they were just minding their own business at a gay bar, or hear of mass gay teen suicides, or the very flagrant debates of religous conservative nazis on tv....I just keep hoping that means we are closer to the end of this nonsense. Can't wait for VA to have to allow gay marraige and gay adoption, and watch all the bigots woe in dismay about yet another battle they have lost. Oh how sweet it will be...

This one i have to bring up. Judaism was not meant to be an evangelizing/proselytizing faith, which is why Jews aren't pushy about that sort of thing.

Point still stands, it's still a good point.

How about this one: "Believes christ wasn't our lord and savior, doesn't try to kill those who disagree" or something.

also, Jews have always just kinda did their thing...why in the world would anyone hate them?  they're one of the few religions I don't hate.  Sure, I think most of their beliefs are rather silly, but they don't try to force their version of god on the world like christians or muslims.  if all religions were like Judaism, I honestly wouldn't have a problem with them.  Judaism and Buddhism for the win!

Horrible stuff...but sadly it happens. a lot.

You know I have thought about it...what if my son/daughter one day turns out to be gay? i have realized that wouldn't matter much to me personally. But i come from a country which is not that strict about almost anything....yet some are very judgmental ( guess this is part of any culture I suppose). so handling situations where those around you judging your child will be the annoying thing....cuz i will want to punch them lol but either way...it won't matter. if they are gay, they are gay. as long as they are happy and comfortable being who they are, as a parent i will be happy as well.

yeah i know it's kinda weird to have thought of this so much since I have no plans to marry even any time soon hehe but it's a good topic to think about. i do wonder what buddhism says about homosexuality. ;s even i'm not sure ...gotta look it up

dude, don't patronize me.  you dont need to be a genius to know your sexuality is not a choice.  if it's a choice, then CHOSE to be gay.  go ahead, do it.  I dare you.

It's not something I would choose personally. And there may be some studies that support it not being a choice, but it will never be a set in stone fact such as 2+2=4. I still think nurture plays a big part as well as nature.

I keep saying were better off without religion, and this is yet another reason why.

Religion will always be an excuse for illogical racism and murder, even if it also has good intentions.

And that's just it; it's a stupid "excuse." It's not Religion itself most of the time, it's some of the dumb people who are part of it.
