It looks shit imo. I dont think having to push upwards to push down a button would work...
My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right
Seems good for 2D jump n runs.

If it was a 2D platformer couldn't you just use the d pad? I prefer the d pad for (2D) platform games.
I rather meant the tight nd direct button controls for jumping.

Ah for some reason I was focusing on the statement never take hands of analog stick. That might come in handy but I assume most that buy this might be for FPS games. I guess you can constantly aim while doing other shit. I don't think too many die hard FPS fans that will pick this up unless it was marketed with BO2. Slap a CoD logo on there and it would probably sell a few million.

Agreed, seems to me that the action you have to take to push the buttons would cause you to involuntarily move the control stick anyway, which is more of a disadvantage than simply letting go.
I've seen ads for those before, they look insane and I've always wanted to try one. Sadly I've never known anyone that has had one and I'm not going to spend the money just to try one of those.
I worked with a professional gamer for a while (she was actually a frag doll) and instead of using those things, they did something called the crab grip when playing Halo. I saw her playing like that one day and it's pretty crazy but it makes sense and that's apparently how they all play. It's the same concept as that crazy contraption in that it allows you to use the right analog stick and face buttons at the same time.
You do it by holding the controller with your left hand as normal, but with your right hand, you but your pointer finger on the face buttons and then use your middle finger and ring finger for triggers. It feels really awkward but I guess if you're use to it, it makes you that much better since you can turn and press buttons.
