As a Die hard Nintendo fan, I admit there are some games that I really like that do not get released on a Nintendo console, I thought of a solution to this back in the last generation of gaming, I simpy pick up a pre-owned/refurbished Xbox/360/PS1,2,3/ and buy preowned games only on those consoles, I only buy new games for a Nintendo console so I kinda just help Nintendo and the Retail store, I get to play their games but dont give them my money directly, XD

Well, I don't hate any of the consoles. Sure, I it would be nice to own Halo and Gears of War games, but I already have PS3 and Wii, so I definitely don't need another console

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

i would buy it, but then i would be able to play since im not buying a Sony-Msoft console cause they are evil...

Here's what doesnt make sense. 3DS has been out for some time and it has been known that MH would be on it. Vita just released and as of now there isnt going to be a MH on it. My thing is if these people opted to get the Vita ANYWAY, then they are just plain stupid and letting their hatred of Ninty or whatever blind them

Has nothing to do with hatred or fanboyism. Just pure preference.

Vita has much better specs than the 3DS and that alone is what decides it for some people.

There's a Monster Hunter game on Xbox 360. That doesn't mean MH fans went out and bought one just for that......

Then they aren't true fans.

@OP. Fanboyism. When Final Fantasy VII came out on Playstation, I was shocked since to me Final Fantasy meant Nintendo. I abandoned Megaman X even though I loved it because it went to the playstation. FFVII & VIII I ended up playing on the PC thanks to Eidos, but when IX came out I caved in. Also, I really regret abandoning X :( I wouldn't do something like that today. If I'm a true fan of something, I'll follow it to the end. When Street Fighter IV came out for the 360, I was very tempted to buy the 360 arcade just for that game. I actually had a 360 in my hands, but couldn't really afford it at that time it was a compulsive buy. Had I had a bit more spare change I swear I would have bought the 360 just for Street Fighter IV.

any Nintendo game on a current Sony platform would by default have the potential to be a much better game in every single way, so no one would fault you picking it up, on the other hand there isn't shit on any PlayStation platform that would be better on Nintendo hardware and that's not even an opinion not only would not have the potential to be better, they don't have the potential to be the same and more than anything they'll end up significantly worse

I'd pay to see a portable pokemon running on the vita's 5" OLED screen with it's superior input methods (that are all built in) and amazing hardware, yet there's nothing I would pay to see anything on Vita on a fucking 3DS

if you like wasting your money that your business, to me it only counts if the experience is significantly different like GTA on the PS1 vs PS2, FF on the SNES vs PS1, and Killzone on the PS2 vs PS3, it's not just graphics but the core of the game being completely evolved and as such providing a completely evolved experience

MH4 is no such evolution in which deserves non of my time, call me when there a Vita version until then Capcom can piss off........*friend codes ugh*

One would have to be an absolute moron to be unable to argue that.

1) the 3DS has features the vita will never have, from a hardware standpoint. We've discussed these in detail here: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4658649

2) Whatever time a company loses in graphical capabilities, it wins in being able to spend time focusing on other aspects of the game. We all know HD console games development require more business resources in general than SD games. With an HD budget, more creativity can be injected into an SD game given the extra time left over.

3) Working with Nintendo's financial and business backing, depending on the title, is another advantage to consider. As Sony was able to inject some of their creative strengths to games like Final Fantasy VII, the same can be said about injecting Nintendo's strengths when it comes to exclusives.

4) Some amazing games are launching on Wiiware, PSN and XBLA with much less graphical capabilities than a 3DS. Some of these are better than full console games, and graphics are not the be all end all.

5) If people bought MH on the PSP while much better graphics were available on the Wii and on the PS3, then they are not there for the top-end graphics. The 3DS will provide a graphical leap above the PSP, BY FAR, and so jumping to Vita graphics is not a priority, according to their buying habits. Complaints about graphical performance seems to be a cover up to a real issue: the game not releasing on their console/manufacturer of choice.

Rather, it would be insane not to be able to counter it.

I would not buy a new console for one game. I can't play every game that interests me anyway so I concentrate on games I can get on the plattforms I own. Of course, if there were a lot of games I wanted to play on this console, I would buy it, but not for one game. I need about 5 games I really really want to play before jumping ship. The Vita is the only exception right now. I had a lot of cash on hand and there was a really good offer, so I bought the device but I still need 3 games on this thing to not make it a mistake. Right now only Uncharted and Gravity Rush were worth the purchase. I hope Little Big Planet, Soul Sacrifice and Assassins Creed Liberation will rectifiy this.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I'm not buying a brand new console just to play one game, no thank you.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

No? I do it all the time. I bought a

Gamecube for Wave Race: Blue Storm
Xbox for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
DS for The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Wii for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
PS3 for Flower
X360 for Tales of Vesperia
PSP for Jeanne D'Arc

I'll buy a 3DSXL for Paper Mario: Sticker Star.
Not a console, but 20 years ago I bought my first PC just for Sid Meier's Civilization (and claimed to use it for seminar papers even though I already knew I''d never finish university).

Eventually I bought more than one game for each of those systems but initially I bought all my systems for just one game. The first game on a system often was the only one I owned for months (or even more than a year like in Wave Race's and Old Republic's case). I'm aware though that not everybody wants to spend or is able to spend this much money for theoretically just one game.

I wont buy a console or a handheld for just one game.
