Forums - Sony Discussion - Best Buy selling PS Display (24-inch) $199

That thing actually came out?

I got it at gamestop for $299 and they gave me an extra pair of the glasses and that baseball game. It was semi worth it. I should probably sell that baseball game while its still worth something.

... Maybe it's just the poster's style or something but am I the only one struck by how much the post sounds like a marketing pitch?

PSA: Here's a new product and a link to buy it. I received one as a gift and it is great, I will probably buy a second PS3 to go with it. Gaming and 3D on it looked great and I was surprised by the coolness of it and so was my family! I think at this price it is a deal.

Ha...good point. My post does sound like a marketing pitch. Wasnt meant to be though...I just thought it was a good deal.

I use this display as one of my computer monitors. Had my PS3 hooked up to it for a while 3D on games is neat but I prefer playing it on my 46" TV. I paid $300 for it and while it is a bit steep for a monitor I find it preforms better then the 24" acer I have sitting next to it.

When your PC puts the display to sleep does the PS Display go into sleep mode or stay on? If it goes to sleep like a regular PC monitor does it wake back up when you move the mouse or do you have to turn it back on like a TV?

I will have to check on that tonight and get back to you. My laptop is always plugged in when I use the display and I have sleep mode turned off when my laptop is plugged in...so I am not sure. But I do know that I have to manually turn the diplay on when I turn my laptop on.

the way I see it, if you are going to get a 3D TV, go all out and get like a 50 inch or something.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Out of the box, the PS display shuts off when my laptop goes into sleep mode or is shut down. However, in the settings for the PS display there is an option for "Quick Start". I just turned that on an now the PS display turns on automatically when my laptop comes out of slep mode and on startup.

What about when you just have the computer set to turn off the display? Does that work like a regular monitor? What I mean is, the PC is still on and NOT asleep itself, but instead of a screen saver going on forever it sends out a blank display that tells PC monitors to go into standby.

the first time I heard about the display I was a little bummed about how small it was. if it was at least a 32 inch. I would get it pronto.

Yeah. Same here.

It acts just like a regular monitor, I keep it on the entire time, and it puts itself in sleep mode.  The only thing I don't like about it are how the speakers stick out I would prefer being able to place my monitors close togeather with minimal distance between them.
