Forums - Gaming Discussion - Last minute predicament. Which phone to choose?

So, I have been on the fence about getting a new smartphone but waiting until my contract ran out with AT&T so I can take it somewhere for cheaper, however last night my phone was dropped and the screen is all screwed up and no longer functions. I had a friend at work say that he can't even call my phone, supposedly drops the call instantly.

Anyways, it seems that the Galaxy SIII just released, so I am thinking about getting it. Then on the other hand I was thinking of an iPhone because I want the games, but that 3.5" screen is such a bummer for me when you see that the SIII has a 4.8" screen.

I CAN'T DECIDE AND I ONLY HAVE UNTIL THE END OF MY WORK SHIFT TO FIGURE IT OUT!!!

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

I don't know... I like a screen that isn't too big.  I like my phone to fit in my pocket.

If I'd want a tablet, I'd buy one.

Well, I guess it depends on if you're planning to stick with AT&T. I have a Galaxy Nexus, and it's amazing, so I'd totally recommend Samsung's next flagship Android phone.

Other than that, if your carrier has a top notch Windows Phone, I'd recommend looking into it. It's pretty impressive - I wanted one, but Verizon has no 4G Windows phones, so that made my decision for me. If your carrier has them, they are better than they have any right to be.

Well I've had a galaxy s2 for nearly a year and it's a really great phone. Had no problems whatsoever. It's probably a fair bit cheaper on a pay monthly now the galaxy s3 has released. If u don't have a budget I would say a galaxy s3 or htc one X. If u want a decent price phone that has great specs then a galaxy s2 or sony Xperia s.

Well, I will have to stick with AT&T it seems considering my plan isn't up until the end of September. Anyways, I know I can get a Galaxy Nexus out of contract from Google for $400, but the S3 is actually pretty well priced at $200 at launch, which to me was very surprising. Plus my job has some kind of deal with ADP who has some kind of deal with AT&T and Verizon, it ends up allowing me so shave 8% off my monthly bill with AT&T.

I kind of like the style of the windows phones, but it is just so lacking in the software department and I regularly game on my phones, which is the only reason why I even considering an iPhone, even with it's little screen. So many of the titles that I want, like the new Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary game, is only Android/iPhone. That is a big turn off for me sadly.

It's tough, but you are right in that Samsung phones are really nice devices.

I'm using Nokia Lumia 800 for 1 week now. Amazing phone! I miss some of the games on the iPhone as Cut the rope or Where is my water, but there are many games I'm going to try this weekend.

XBox integration is nice and is working well.

I'd go with the Android phone (From pretty much any maker) over the iPhone. Generally cheaper, more customisable and screens ranging from 3.5 to 4.8 inch. Sure the iPhone is nice, but there are definitely a large selection of cheaper and better alternatives in the market imo.

Ended up just getting both. Got an iPhone 4S for myself so I can play the RPGs and I preordered the Galaxy S3 for my fiance.

If I end up not caring much for the iPhone I have 30-days to return it.

Now off to Jailbreak it.
