Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Nintendo holding back Wii U information? Black Ops 2 a launch title?

This whole discussion is completely off-topic & irrelevant. It doesn't matter what your belief is about Nintendo & the core gamer. The original question is: "if black ops 2 and madden are launch titles for the wii U, then why did Nintendo not reveal them yet? Why would they hold that information back?" Answer that question, that's all i want to know, i dont care about your heartfelt & dedicated beliefs about Nintendo & the "Core" gamer.

That's what we were talking about, and the question has been answered. It's simple.

Nintendo is incompetent at E3 presentations, and hitting the mark where it counts.

Cheers

Great input, truly revelatory. Continue on your journey to keep the enlightenment alive. Have you ever thought about writing a book of gospel of video gamery? Your intelligence astounds, and your wit amazes.

I don't understand Black Ops 2's absence at all. To me, it would be the game which would scream "WE CAN REPLACE YOUR 360 OR PS3" for Nintendo, and they should be using that to their advantage. The third party titles they showed were fine, but BO2 instead of ME3 would have been a better choice, in my opinion.

I think microsoft payed ea and activision to only talk about cod on thier platforms.I mean i found it weird how on the sony conference they showed a trailer for ass creed on the vita and then talked about cod on vita but just showed a picture...we all know it's cod and ea is gonna be on it either way so whateves

Game Trailers editor-in-chief Shane Satterfield came under heavy criticism when he said before E3 that the Wii U launch line-up was “looking pretty damn good”. Satterfield later took to Twitter and stated that the Wii U game that sparked that comment was pulled from the show by Nintendo.

They absolutely needed to get a lot of multiplatform titles as a bare minimum, and they seem to be doing that for now. But if you are a Nintendo fan who thinks third parties are always out to screw over Nintendo or a core gamer who is shy of buying a Nintendo console because they always get such lousy support, why would you have any confidence that things have really changed?

Because I'm not a Nintendo fan who thinks third parties are always out to screw over Nintendo. I'm one of the rare ones who believes it's up to Nintendo, they are the platform, the onus is on them to appeal to partners.

Those who see it the other way around seem to lack the business mind, and feed into Nintendo's vestigial arrogance.

That's a point where you and I, despite being fans of different platforms, actually meet. And there are few like me here, most are PS fans.

Right, well, I meant the hypothetical "you". A lot of Nintendo fans genuinely believe that third parties have nothing better to do than plan ways to fuck over Nintendo, rather than seeing third parties' actions as being based on demographics and market conditions. If they believe this, what did third parties show for the Wii U that would give them any hope that things are going to be different this time? Only Ubi showed a bunch of stuff, but they always seem to go in heavy for the launch of a new Nintendo platform, so nothing has changed there.

And don't mistake me for a Sony fan, damn it! I may like the PS3 best at the moment, but earlier this generation I was over the moon about the 360. I fought the good fight against the hordes of Sony fanboys when I first arrived on the shores of VGChartz. (I was also about two years late to the party this gen because I was doing all my gaming almost exclusively on PC until I couldn't take not playing Dead Rising any longer.) So I'm not one for loyalty to any platform holder, and as I grew up on the NES and SNES, nothing would make me happier than to see Nintendo give me a reason to come back home.

@bold. Rather, based on Nintendo's previous handling of the market and 3rd party relations, and cock-blocking 3rd parties from expanding their own intended markets on the platform. And the onus is still on Nintendo to show they are no longer cock-blockers, but the doubt is still there.

I really hope they give us the Nintendo of old, and offer content for everyone. But I'm sick of hoping, I've been a dedicated Nintendo fan for as long as you have, and I'm really tired of waiting for them to get their act together. Even still, the WiiU holds an inch of promise, I think I will latch on maybe one last time.

My theory is this, I recently read an interview with Iwata and he said that Japanese game industry are suffering right now, lack of blockbusters, lack of hype, poor sales, so seeing how Nintendo is a Japanese Company, they will hold back their best and most exciting announcements for the Tokyo Game Show this Sept, making this once important convention in the video game game industry, relevant again, so hopefully they will announce these games and also "Injustice, Gods among us"

Didnt see any sign of it when WB games & ubisoft made lengthy presentations at Nintendos e3 conference? Didn't see any signs of it when Nintendo brought out a very core style controller pro? Funny, you don't see too well badgenome, you might want to wear clothes because your Takpenis acids, oh sorry that's just your signature.

No. I don't consider showing a port of a year old game and Zombie Game #1,300,033 to be a "big push" with core games.

Money says if ZombiU had been shown for any other platform, core gamers would be shitting their britches with delight.

then your money is good as gone. Even when TLOU was revealed a lot of people were a bit taken aback because it had a zombie-like creature in it. The whole internet was like great to see ND in a new IP but another zombie game? It's only after they saw what makes it much different than the rest that people got on board with it

Badgenome is absolutely right. Nintendo are not doing a good job in bringing in the core fans outside of their nintendo fans with their actions. Not with the games, and definitely not with the online.

Though I agree with you on the Zombie theme, but this far those who have been crapping on ZombiU ( and this is not you, not even badge, but Mav, and strategyking92 -> http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=143986&page=4 at 50ppp) have been doing so to crap on the controller, calling it a gimmick (my lord, we have to deal with that from them again).

That's the kind of people you just can never please.
