Didn't know an announcement would come within the next couple weeks, so in that case I will at least wait for that.

Don't know what I am going to do if the release is around Sept.-Oct. though since my phone is literally on its way out and unsure if I can hold out for 3-4 more months.

I wouldn't know what to do, hopefully it's only weeks away.

I'm waiting until June 11 to see if apple announces iPhone 5. Otherwise i'm getting the 4S

The new iPhone (and I'm guessing that's what they'll call it, "The New iPhone") will probably launch in autumn like the last one. One key hardware feature will probably be a 4" screen, achieved by elongating the current screen to 16:9, rather than building a larger form factor. I wouldn't be surprised if it came with 4G, since the iPad has it now.

If those features don't matter to you, 4S will probably have access to all the same software features when iOS 6 comes out. I think Siri was an isolated exception, either due to some integrated audio processing or concerns about load on Apple's servers.

I'm waiting for them to actually update their iPod Touches this time around and get one of those; a 4" media player sounds good.
