I don't know if there already is a thread about this one. I think we need to talk about Kinect sales for one second. MS said they shipped 18 million Kinect sensors at CES (early January). We still have it @ 16 million for end of March. So three months later there are still 2 million sensors sitting in stores around the world? I doubt it.

Or is there anything else to consider?

We need to wait for Q3 numbers (coming in approx. 3 weeks) to know if they massively overshipped the 360 (and likely Kinect with it) or not.
NPD fucked with everyone's estimations for December 2011. I'm still not sure if they displayed the correct numbers, since everyone (VGC, Wedbush, EEDAR) had much higher numbers.

I believe vgchartz are simply undertracking its sales. 2 million units on shelves sounds ridiculous.

I think its fairly largely undertracked. At least by a Million.

The important question is: Have they sold enough to cover the cost of their (imo) obscene $500m worldwide advertising campaign..? :Oo

it was reported that each kinect takes around $50 to make and then count in all the software sales...

do the math and tell me what the most likely conclusion is...

 why the comment if he didnt say anything about sony or nintendo?... Console wars still going on?...
