360 - 512 Gb ram

wiiU - ??  huh?

ps3 - 256 Gb ram

Quote is entirely correct.

PS Vita 768M

WiiU 768M - some of the (earlier?) developer units did indeed come with 768M

Xbox/PS3 512M

The current rumours for the WiiU are anywhere from 768M to 1.5G ram

Vita doesn't have 768 MB of game usable RAM.  A lot of that is dedicated to the OS and background features.
It has 512 MB of system RAM which has a portion allocated to the OS and background functions.  Not sure how much though.
And 128 MB of VRAM.   Even the total would be 640 MB.   Granted this doesn't change your point, it's more for clarification.

Yes, and PS3 have 256 MB RAM and 256 VRAM that can be used combined but the games can only use 488 MB in total, because 24 MB are allocated to the system. Only 360 have 512 MB to the games itself to.

Well, the Skyrim bug was caused by the limitation on the PS3.  The 360 has a more advance ram system, allowing a pooled system.  Which is much smarter.  The System can only use up to 256 on the PS3 and the video can only use up to 256.  The 360 can allocate less to the video and boost the system ram when it wants or use it as VRAM when it wishes.

Honestly, I liked the anonymous troll from the other thread better. That can be written off as made-up nonsense, but this here is pretty damning. If the Wii U is called a "nice bridge to the next generation", then you should already know what to expect. A console that will be left out like the Wii, only without the Wii's success.

You're getting better Rol, but you have a ways to go to reach this guy's level.

Anyways, I forgot how much tech spec talk sucks. Although to be fair, VGChartz is a lot more civilized than GAF (which is a zoo right now). Sixty-something days 'til E3... I might take a break until then.

I wasn't joking. It's pretty clear that he doesn't consider the Wii U a next generation console.

Seems like you are blinded, because you heard some nice words from a third party developer. Maybe I should dig up some old Wii news, with praise for the innovative design and how awesome it will be to develop games for it.

Blinded? Come on Rol, I've never stated what I expect from Wii U's hardware. To be honest I expect a nice little bump in processing power from the 360/PS3, but nothing more. I'll I know is that I'll be enjoying Aliens: Colonial Marines, and Batman: Arkham Asylum (among other unannounced Nintendo games) when I get my Wii U on the night of it's launch.

I try not to invest too much of my personal and emotional life into the culture of video games. Really, they're there for me to enjoy and that's really it. Sure, I'm part of a video game community, but that's just an extention of sharing my enjoyment of video games with others (which is one of the reasons I'll be going off to GameWise. Sure, the sales discussion was great... but without the tools and the actual sales discussion... it's gotten kinda lame. ). I'm definitely a "go with the flow" guy, and that goes for my video game life as well. Enjoy what I have, forget about the rest. It's worked out well for me thus far.

And yes, I realize how random this response was. XD

This is in line with my prediction of the WiiU being 2.0x +/- 0.5x more powerful than the current consoles (that's 1.5 times to 2.5 times as powerful).

I don't like the "late in the cycle" comment ... but I can see if you are doing a PS3/Xbox 360/WiiU game how you might think that way.

Finally, until we know all the specs for everything -- including some of the rumored anti-piracy measures of the other consoles -- we don't know how this will all skae out.

Can we stop talking about all of these rumours of the WiiU's power, please? We'll find out soon enough, why bother posting contradicting reports all the time?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

62 days until E3.

We're not gonna make it.

Honestly, I've learned to ignore all the trolling done on the Wii U by Sonybots (hate them the most) and M$ fanatics (my confused brothers/sisters) and just concentrating on facts!!! The facts being, are that the Wii U will come with a POWER7 CPU (it comes in 4, 6, 8 cores @2.4ghz-4.5ghz configuration) and a Radeon HD R770 based GPU!!! Those alone (not accounting eDRAM probably 10-24MB from MoSys, along with the rumoured 1-2GB system and video RAM) give the Wii U at the very least 4-5x more capability than my beloved X360 slim!!!

*Insert comment about how ridiculous these Wii U rumors/news are becoming*
