The downsides to Japanese voice acting:

* No one understands it except Japanese people - at least if it is in French or English, most people will generally understand it.
* Japanese voice acting is ALWAYS terrible - every female character under the age of 40 sounds like a todler; Japanese voice acting also is very emotionless, the only way Japanese voice actors express emotion is by screeching (If they are angry, they screech; if they are happy, they screech; if they are sad, they screech - and it all sounds the same). A bad English dub is still probably significantly better than the Japanese original, they do not take voice acting seriously in Japan. 
* You have to read subtitles, and that is just irritating, as it means your attention is not always on the action.

I do not understand how so many people can think Japanese voice acting is preferable, but all of you exist only in the Internet =P

Very good week for 3DS, barely decent for PS3, meh the others, PSV and DS OMG.

PSV needs:

- games
- bundles with games
- including a memory card with each unit
- colours
- better marketing

and if all of the above isn't enough yet, as a last option

- a price cut

1. It's equally irritating as in some english dubs you have grown women voice acting teenagers. You can hear the difference...

2.Completely disagree. If anything Japanese voice actors put almost too much emotion to the acting sometimes.

3. Well I have done that whole my file so no problem to me. We dub only children animations here in Finland. Everything else is subtitled (thank god). Heck even with english dubbed games I use subtitles because I understand written english better than spoken (Only Sony's first party games are subtitled to Finnish...)

I like to think of this as an april fools' troll post, because this post is just all kinds of wrong. Now even if you answer "no it isn't a troll" I will just take it as another troll post.

it's nice to see the 3ds sitting comfortably in first :) especially after it's shaky start.

it's also interesting to see the ps3 pull ahead to be the weekly top selling console so late in the seventh gen.
