Forums - Gaming Discussion - Holy @#$%: SEGA is teasing Skies of Arcadia and Shenmu HD to be the next DC HD titles

Skies of Arcadia was a amazing rpg I would definitely play it again

Why go back and play the dated shenmue when the awesome spiritual successor Yakuzas are superior in every aspect?

Skies of Arcadia on the other hand ... I have no idea what the game is about but boy do Sega fans love to dwell on it. I'm interested in it.

Yakuza superior?

Both Shenmue 1 & 2 raped Yakuza 1,2 & 3 overall when it came to review scores.

Just because there are similarities, it does not mean that everyone is going to automatically like Yakuza.

I had more emotions/feelings for Ryo & Nazomi ALONE than i had for every Yakuza character put together.

Yu Suzuki's Shenmue has been called a masterpiece countless times by countless gaming media giants.

Yakuza on the other hand............. just another game.

Who cares about Skies Of Arcadia, a better version is available on the Gamecube. The "HD" version we will receive will be a crappy upscaled DC port. Better than nothing but worse than the Gamecube one.

Maybe or... maybe NOT!

The HD port of Sonic Adventure was the Gamecube version.

Shenmue aged horribly. People are going to be pissed when reviewers get a hold of it. Skies is still timeless, though. It's a whole lot of game and will require a lot of time but I may just buy it again.

Now GIMME SOME POWERSTONE HD WITH ONLINE!

You might have to head over to CAPCOM forums. SEGA cant help with that.

And Capcom is so greedy for money, it may just take ONE person mentioning it for them to go ahead and re-release the game.  The only reason they haven't done it yet is because they didn't think of it.  Just expect some DLC like music and costumes.  It's the Capcom way.

Which version of skies?? i have both already.

Me too.  But guys like me and you don't care about if a game is good or bad.  We just like to show other people how awesome and loyal we are by buying the same game over and over again!  I've bought MGS3 and Resident Evil 4 a combined total of eight times.  That's why people like me.  Because I'm hardcore.*

I will make SEGA talk to CAPCOM for me.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Skies of Arcadia was the last RPG (or one of the last RPGs) of the RPG golden age, before the home console genres became sparser with releases, and got perverted with things that made them more similar to action adventure games. It was also one of the best in my opinion. It used a battle system that was related to Chrono Trigger, that is, it had a light-tactical system; although encounters were random, and Chrono Trigger's were scripted to specific areas. Characters were also very similar in attitude, and the game shared a lot of the mood of Chrono Trigger.

Skies of Arcadia was also, in my opinion, one of the games that made the Dreamcast a great console that - was became incredibly underrated by people who never owned a Sega system and hated Sega for an irrational reason. Unfortunately, Sega was in debt around a billion dollars, and the Dreamcast had become a heavily pirated system (there seemed to be many more people with collection of pirated games than collections of actual games).

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
