Finally! I was able to track down a copy of Heartgold for just €20 new Quick status report (just in case someone reads this stuff): I have 3 badges and I'm having a blast playing the game! The Johto region feels incredibly dense and packed with cool stuff. It's like the developers keep throwing all those amazing things at you (towers, ruins, actual challenges outside of battles) and having 3 legendaries appear so early in the game was a brilliant idea. So far I enjoyed it more than White mainly because of the points mentioned above and the better Pokemon (let's admit it the Pokemon in Black/White weren't as great as the old ones...) I can't wait to see more of the gaming world and I'm looking forward to seeing the Kanto region again. It feels like good old Pokemon is back

My team: Croconaw (L24), Pidgeotto (L24), Flaaffy (L23), Kadabra (L24), Gastly (L24), Growlithe (L21)

Pidgeotto will be replaced by Togepi once I obtained the next batch and I'm not sure about Flaaffy, it just doesn't fit my fighting style I think. I refrained from catching a Zubat because that's always my Flying type and I wanted something new. Good times

Wow, you've got Kadabra and Gastly on the same team? I usually only use one or the other (mostly Gengar over Alakazam) given the huge similarities between them (plus both can learn Shadow Ball/Psychic, with Gengar getting the bonus of learning Sludge Bomb).

Oh and Ampharos is boss for Elite 4. Have him learn Power Gem and Signal Beam and you'll faceroll most of the Elite 4 with Amphy and Gengar alone XD.

I would really, REALLLLLY like to ask Reggie or Iwata why Pokemon B/W 2 is not a 3DS. Don't give me that "well it has exclusive stuff on the 3DS" crap. I want a 3D Pokemon game, and I'm not getting a Pokemon game until that game comes out.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

You might miss something good then! BW2 looks like a really good game.

(Though it should've been on the 3DS, I agree!)

Already got my copy of Pokemon Black 2 .

Anyone else playing the new games too? My Black 2 FC is: 4170-2357-3840 for anyone interested in future trades/version exclusive exchanges.

My experience with Pokemon Black 2 so far (up until Virbank City gym):

- The game's UI is a much improved version over the one at Black/White. Personally fits my tastes much better.
- It's a moderate challenge if you pick Snivy as your starter. Lots of Fire/Bug/Poison types early on and lots of status effects as well, makes it a challenge to farm when your team gets constantly Poison/Burn/Paralyzed
- The Medal system is a nifty "achievement" system to track your progress through the game and your milestones. A nice gimmick for the newcomers to the series.
- Didn't enjoy the removal of the post-battle Poison effect. Your pokes no longer take damage per steps, which will make future Nuzlocke runs that much easier.
- Auto-ask for Repel replenish is a time-save.
- Animations and sprites seem to be a tad better.
- Battle musics are much, much better, especially Gym leader, Story-specific battles and last pokemon boss theme.
- Being able to catch a wild Riolu is nothing short of amazing. No longer need for long and boring resets until you hatch a proper nature one/good IV one.
- A shame that challenge mode isn't unlocked from the get-go, would like to see an added layer of difficulty in the game.
- The Nintendo WFC Genesect give-away should be locked until you're able to progress at least until later gyms. Receiving the Legendary pokemon, at level 15, when all your pokes are level 5 or below, can really break the game for those who will exploit it. (Can see a lot of "I completed Challenge mode with ease" while pumping Genesect).
- Lackluster offer of Water-type pokemon, at least up to this part of the game. And no, Psyduck isn't a viable choice no matter what.

So far, i'm loving the game, it's an overall improvement from the previous games.

Just got the final badge. Game is great. I haven't gotten a "third tier" Pokemon game since Pokemon Yellow, but Pokemon Black/White 2 could honestly be considered a brand new game in the Pokemon universe (without of course a new generation of Pokemon).

Started with Zorua, Sneasel, Larvitar, Scorupi, Deino, and Scraggy. This group has had it challenges, due to late evolutions (Larvitar, Scorupi, Deino, and Scraggy in particular) and of course type disadvantages. But it's a fun challenge for sure.

Right now here's my team:

(54)(54)(54)(54) (54) (55)

Not looking forward to one particular member of the Elite Four.

Hey, you better treat that Zweilous with love! Especially once he hits Hydreigon xD.

At the gates of the Elite Four. My body (and Pokemon) is ready.
