Finally! I was able to track down a copy of Heartgold for just €20 new 
Quick status report (just in case someone reads this stuff): I have 3 badges and I'm having a blast playing the game! The Johto region feels incredibly dense and packed with cool stuff. It's like the developers keep throwing all those amazing things at you (towers, ruins, actual challenges outside of battles) and having 3 legendaries appear so early in the game was a brilliant idea. So far I enjoyed it more than White mainly because of the points mentioned above and the better Pokemon (let's admit it the Pokemon in Black/White weren't as great as the old ones...) I can't wait to see more of the gaming world and I'm looking forward to seeing the Kanto region again. It feels like good old Pokemon is back 
My team: Croconaw (L24), Pidgeotto (L24), Flaaffy (L23), Kadabra (L24), Gastly (L24), Growlithe (L21)
Pidgeotto will be replaced by Togepi once I obtained the next batch and I'm not sure about Flaaffy, it just doesn't fit my fighting style I think. I refrained from catching a Zubat because that's always my Flying type and I wanted something new. Good times
