Forums - Website Topics - Can't view Gamrfeed?

People actually write hatemail about gaming sites? That's kind of sad.

So you guys are breaking up the forums into completely different sites? ouch... maybe.

I wondered why the dropdown menu for my profile had shifted to the left.... shows how little I used gamrFeed.

I would like to point out that gamrFeed is in gamrReview.

Yeah all the articles are still viewable of course, and accessible from the "articles" tab on the VGChartz homepage.... there just isn't a direct link in the top menu bar.

I barely remember what was inside of it other than what people have told me. So yeah, I hardly used it either.

Main page, GamrReview to get to the database and gamrConnect is all I use. Actually I use gamrTV as well, but no more than once or twice a day.

Currently I spend 90% of my VGC time in gamrConnect (naturally, given that this is the forums) then maybe 9% in VGChartz, most of that checking weekly charts, the rest in the Chartz side of the game database (which has the best bits of the game sales info). The final 1% is still with the gamrReview side of the game database, partly because i'm still used to using it through there and partly because the screenshots are only available there.

I used to use gamrFeed, more so in the period in 2010 and 2011 when I didn't come to the forums as much (ie to get the more important bits of news). I could probably count the number of times I have been on gamrTV on my fingers and toes, which is a shame because I think it is the sleekest looking bit of the site... but whenever I have been there I get pissed at the adverts and end up searching for the same video on youtube instead (on which I can block the adverts).

Everyone seemed to hate Feed when it actually existed (the hate mail was pretty... full on), and now y'all are bemoaning its death.

The staff will be re-organised in the process. All existing users will have established accounts on the 3 sites, so you don't have to worry about that. Future sign-ups will be for the individual sites though.

You can find more info. on the whole thing here - http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=132569 (obviously the concepts have been refined since some of the earlier posts in that thread, but yeah).

In this case, "y'all" refers to three people though.

Will gamrReview have anything user driven? Or is it "just" a site for staff produced content?

I will certainly give the new sites a chance but this is a major bummer. Feed was my personal favorite. I would visit Feed twice a day, and only visit the other pages when Feed forwarded me. I like the perspective offered by VG news articles, even though it wasn't a major focus of the site, and I hope the new system will evolve a bookmark-friendly, 1-page summary of news, reviews, and sales figures that I eagerly await for throughout the day.

If Feed was considered bloated (and it was), try a replacement page that is text heavy and picture lite.

People actually liked gamrfeed? Wow. Anyway considering I contributed to it somewhat I feel a tad sentimental about the loss of gamrfeed, but hey that's progress.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Gamrfeed was the first part of the site i checked when i visit.

Gamrfeed sucked, but when something sucks, you need to improve on it, not throw it away. I see lots of articles have been deleted permantly. A loss, but I can understand. This site's visiting numbers have been declining rapidly the last years.
