MGS 4 and FFXIII are the only system sellers for ps3 I think. Is killzone that well known, how did the first killzone do, good graphics=sells? Will killzone make xbox users in america buy a ps3 to play a fps where xbox seems to be the king in that genre. Splinter Cell games don't have amazing sells. GT5 may sell systems, it has a good chance but not a sure game, I don't think racing games sell that many systems. The rest aren't really that hugely known.

GTA4 will help the xbox more then help the ps3, why would americans get ps3 to play gta4 where xbox has it with more content. In other areas I do see it helping the ps3 a lot but not in america. The rest of xbox games don't seem that well known, fable 1 didn't have any huge sells, not the kind of sells to sell systems.

Wii with very low number of games, but all those games will sell millions. Excluding GTA4 for xbox, those 3 wii games will sell more then the rest of those xbox games combined and close to the sells of those ps3 games as well. One of the things that influenced me to think poorly on what certain games can do is how halo 3 sold systems, wii is ahead by millions now...

Not saying all those games are horrible, but many of them aren't system sellers, they will sell good (be up in the millions) but not push a huge rush of customers to buy systems. Also why are people doubting wii fit will sell well, one huge reason for the craze about wii is the exercise nature of it, of course wii fit will sell very good.

Not for wii, mario kart and mario (tennis?) and super smash are the real games for the wii this year.

Also People dont know the true line up the ps3 holds, what about HAZE? What about The Agency?

real system sellers:

GTA4 (360/PS3)
MGS4 (PS3)
GT5 (PS3)
Fable 2 (360)
Halo Wars (360....maybe not very much, cause the most Halo-Fans have a 360)

....and the 3 wii Games. Everithing else are maybe good Games but not system sellers at all!

Biggest system seller on the list is deffinately FF13, but not 2008....

It's a cumulative thing.   Maybe one of those games alone might not be able to sell systems but when people start seeing 2 or 3 or however many games appeal to them on a console they don't own it obviously has an impact on the chances of them eventually buying the console.

As for the games you mentioned that you don't think will sell a million, I think Killzone 2, Halo Wars, Too Human, Alan Wake, and Left 4 Dead will.

 


Well, I personally have reasons to doubt all of those games (Killzone was an average game on the PS2 and did not sell amazingly, Halo Wars is a drastic departure from the core Halo series, Too Human is a game which has been in development for 10 years by a studio which hasn't had a Million seller in a very long time, and Alan Wake and Left 4 Dead are games being hyped without any real information about the games).

Beyond that, the biggest problem with "system sellers" is no one defined what it means to be a "system seller" ... People will buy systems for these games, and these games will be important to the systems they're released on, but there is very little reason to believe that over the long run these games will have any increase on the sales rate of the systems.
