Right now we know 360 has shipped about 66.5 million and they have a standard of keeping about 1million in supply chain so sales should be between 65 to 65.5.

I heard 66M, do you have a link for 66.5M? And that standard is your BS.

NPD is not world wide. ALSO VGCHARTZ GUESS'S IT'S NUMBERS, SO DOES NPD. Um yea they really don't know the real numbers, it's a calculated guess. So who is right? The company that has the numbers or the people trying to guess the numbers. Does anyone remember the past, this place has been a mess. Numbers have been off and it's been by alot. even if it's shipped that would put 2.4 million on the store shelfs. Like the comment above explains. |
I know NPD is not worldwide, I'm just including the changes to US sales, hoping that VGC's tracking everywhere else is accurate.
Another theory. Maybe Xbox was under tracked in Japan by a million.
Yay!!!

Japan sales have been pretty accurate from the past years. Also, MC delivers fairly accurate sales, so your theory is highly unlikely.

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.
MS has always used sold to customers as their measurement. Why would they all of a sudden change?
If they declared number 1 WW they mean sold to consumers and would have the numbers and research to back it up if needed.
I haven't seen anything from Sony that disputes or states otherwise either and they would if they had the numbers just like they did when they tried to release propaganda numbers last year on how Move outsold Kinect by not only using shipped numbers but also counting the number of wands.

Can't mean 66 rounded up, it was specified as more than 66 million

No but your reply is BS. I'm using the 66.5 as the middle of the road between 66 and 67 as MS has stated it was over 66. I understand that could be 66.1 hence the 65 to 65.5 actual based sold based upon "the standard" that MS has consistantly kept a 1 to 1.5 million supply chain. You don't have to like it (which I have no idea why you wouldn't), but there it is.
I think it's a valid point to bring up the fact that Sony has not said a single peep to dispute Microsoft's claim. Because if indeed Sony won, then they are showing a lack of character for not standing up for themselves and allowing Microsoft to continue garnering mindshare.
