Capcom working on releasing Lost Planet 2 onto Android Tegra 3 devices? It's possible

It looks as though Capcom's Lost Planet 2 game could be heading our way for Tegra 3 Android devices. Included in all the stuff we got was a quote from Capcom who has apparently been testing the game on a quad-core Tegra 3 Android device. It looks like we could see this coming to Android very soon.

Here is the quote from Capcom about Lost Planet 2 running on a Tegra 3 Android tablet:

“NVIDIA’s GPU architecture delivers the best gaming experience, bringing true console-quality games to mobile devices. Our Lost Planet 2 test demo makes it clear - the quad-core muscle of Tegra 3 brings hyper-realistic visuals, smooth frame rates and sharp images. The result is a whole new level of realism to content for smartphones and tablets.” - Jun Takeuchi, Deputy Head of Consumer Games at Capcom

Lost Planet 2 by Capcom is an interesting third-person shooter that takes place on a planet called Eden II. To sum up what the game is about, essentially your task is to kill everything that is hostile on Eden II using a variety of weapons. All this is wrapped up in some slick 3D eye candy as well. Did we mention there are also vehicles and mechs that you can use along with big guns to help kill everything?

Currently Lost Planet 2 is available for PC, XBOX 360 and PS3 so the idea of it coming to Android is a very nice thought and hopefully it just wasn't Capcom testing the game and that's it. Although from the sounds of it, it was a fairly complete version of the game. No word yet on if multiplayer will be included in this but let's hope it does. You can check out the game trailer above to get an idea of the game as it is on those other platform.

You can  check out the Lost Planet demo at Computex 2011 running on a Tegra 3 tablet in the video below, about a third of the way through.

In a few years, there won't be differece between home and portable devices.

Can you have this chip on a mobile phone?

And is this chip stronger than PS Vita?

Now work on bringing actual good games to them. And find a way to control them with a touchscreen.

thx

Yes it's for mobile devices... and the basics are the same 4core A9 processor as the Vita, but the Tegra has a extra "companion" core.. for low power stuff, like being on standby.. so you could say it's a bit more effective not stronger.. t

the chip which will be a gamechanger will be the next Tegra called Wayne  with support for Directx 11+, OpenGL 4.X, OpenCL 1.X, and Physx.. should release a few months in 2012..

Doubt it. There will always be a difference because home devices have much more room (PC's for example)

Yes tecnically speaking there will always be difference, what I mean is in terms of gaming industry that difference may become less relevant in the future. Actually I won't be suprised if mobile and home gaming markets will merge in the future.
