The NHL started 3 days ago and we need sport threads here.So like Rol's thread I hoped more sports talk could comeback to the chartz.

Once again the West is said to have better teams than the East (by far) if you look at win percentages between conferences last season. Of course I am biased.

So share whatever you wish about the NHL.


The Avalanche opened their season by losing to Detriot, but more importantly they retired their long time great center iceman Peter Foresberg # 21.

Good thread man, I love hockey.

I'm cheering for the Coyotes and Jets, although I also like the Red Wings and Kings. Even though I'm from Ontario I don't like the Leafs or the Sens. The only Canadian teams I like are the Flames, Oilers and Jets.

Sounds like you watch it a lot. Do you follow any team more than the rest? I could see why the leafs would be hard to follow as of late. I have a hard time watching my own team the Avalance since they suck. That is why I have started following Vancouver as too.

I like the Flames and Oilers as well, since they are part of the Northwest Division.

In my area its easiest to follow the Leafs and Senators, but all Canadian teams get pretty decent attention in Canada. Its really hard to follow the Coyotes in Canada, they get no attention unless its talk of the team being sold :( I would actually love to see the Yotes moved to Hamilton or some other Canadian city though. Hopefully they don't get moved somewhere stupid like Las Vegas, there's nothing wrong with Sin City, but I'm pretty sure they don't care about hockey there either. 

I can't really say which one I follow most, but I've liked the Coyotes since I was a little kid. My first ever NHL jersey was a classic 90's Tkachuk Coyotes jersey. 

So you follow the Avs then? They could be a pretty decent team. Duchene is really good, he's developing well. I'm not sure who else the Avs have. Do they still have Hejduk? They were awesome in the Sakic/Forsberg era.

I am cheering for my Blackhawks to bring the Cup back to the Windy City, where it truly belongs. :p

So... does everyone believe that the Western Conference will be as strong as it was last year? Last year was amazing. A team with 96 points didn't make the playoffs!

I guess I'm the only Minnesota Wild fan here at the moment Don't have a lot of opportunity to watch the games, but I'll be trying to keep up with how well they are doing throughout the year.



Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

The wild are getting better. I know they added some new players.

I give them the least love because they are the new guys in the division. Still Minnesota is the biggest hockey state so they deserve the team the most.
