The 10-year thing is just a retarded smoke screen of PR from Sony. Was anyone here HONESTLY buying NEW PSX games from 1995-2005, outside of newly manufactured FF games? C'mon. If their logic the Dreamcast has been enjoying a 9-year cycle cos new games are still coming out in Japan, and until late 2007 SEGA was servicing them.

It's possible the Playstation 2 can have a legit 10-year life, though.

There is no 10 year console cycle, unless you only mean that the console will remain in production for 10 years like the PS2. New consoles are likely to continue to come out in 5-6 year intervals. Anyone who believes that the next Sony or Microsoft consoles aren't going to release until 2015-16 also believe that it's possible for something to be "future proof", which is lunacy.

Yeah I know. Its just both Sony and MS have stated many times that they are on a 10 year cycle. When at best the losers only last 5 or 6 in every gen. Only Wii has a chance at being in production for 10+ years, like every other generation leader.

All will have something in or around the 5 year mark. But, still it seems too early to be building a game. 360 has barely been out 2 years. They can't of even finalized the hardware structure yet for a xbox#3.

That depends on how much they plan on changing the arcitechture. If they stick with something related to Xenos, then it isn entirely possible that they can actually start developing a launch game for the Xbox 3 (just to keep names simple). Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo most likely already have an outline for the internals of the next consoles. I doubt they will go for anything alien in design because they will want to bring the consoles out at a lower price next round to get closer to $300.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

I can tell you this much...I would personally pay over $2,000 to have a copy of FFXIII this year...I want it THAT bad. Seriously.

I love all three consoles, but I would sacrifice my 3 most anticpated titles (outside FF) for each of those consoles forever just for FFXIII.

Well, I now only have access to a PS3 & 360...Plan on buying a wii soon (lol, if I can ever find one available!) but will probably wait until some of the major RPG's come out like Dragon Quest & Tales, etc.

Anyhow, I'm so far behind in games to play that I'm not in a huge hurry (lol, haven't even gotten a chance to finish God of War II yet!)
