OMG Spidey keeps going lower & lower.

Hory Crap! Why did Ice Age 4 do so badly?

Ice Age 4 already made more then enough money overseas its at $360.6 million which is the highest grossing animated movie so far this year and I don't see anything releasing later this year taking its #1 spot.  As for the domestic numbers they could be better but I'm sure it will be over $150 by the time its pulled from theaters, animated movies usually have long theatrical runs unless they bomb big time like Mars Needs Moms did last year.

The length of the movie is not a problem..look at Titanic or Avatar.

The movie still has great word of mouth, even if not TDK-good.It's not as if the movie disappointed or something like that. If it had bad word of mouth , then yes , the people who have seen TDK would think twice before seeing TDKR, but that's not the case. Everyone is saying the movie is great,a fitting end to the trilogy.

The people who have seen TDK should normally go see TDKR as well , you don't need TDK word of mouth for that. But the shootings have changed everything,at least for now.

Dark Knight Rises has a 9.2 with over 80,000 votes...its number 3 in the higest rated film of all time for IMDB...which is even higher than the Dark Knight

It's actually number 12 on the list, which is a bit lower than TDK...but it was number 18 yesterday so it is on the way up, for now at least

What is interesting is that TDK was at #11 after 400k+ votes but now after 700k+ votes it is higher (#8). Very, very good

I'm pretty sure there is a glitch cause the score is 9.2 but on the ranking thing its 8.8... but it should be number 3.

No, they use a specific formula to determine the placing in the list.

That's right,  The Shawshank Redemption has a 9.3 but is 9.2 on the list.  Most movies trend down over time though I remeber when Croutching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was close to a 9 on imdb now its at 7.9 which is a shame because its a much better movie then that.  At least it still has a excellent metascore at 93/100.

It really was a lot of fun. I loved both of the movies.

I actually prefered TAS over TDKR. Of course the dark knight had a few things against it (Joker couldn't have exactly been in it and it was the third in a series....which generally is terrible....look at xmen 3, blade 3, spiderman 3, matrix 3, pirates 3, etc etc).

Hope to get some official numbers tomorrow. :/ Anybody know how long they are planning on not reporting numbers?

Le Gasp!

You are going to get some angry Batman fans now, Axum!

Well it will do good then. Ice Age is well known and many people like it.

Ice Age 4 will be be fine.  Ice Age 3 is the highest grossing animated  movie off all time overseas with $690.1 million earned.  I was saying earlier in this thread that Ice Age 4 will make over $600 million overseas I don't know if it still can do it since overseas number are somewhat down this year but it still will easily earn over $500 million overseas and I'm sticking with the $150 million plus domestically.  Over $650 million world wide on a $95 million dollar budget is still great only The Avengers and The Hunger Games have made more money so far this year.

We had some great grossing movie this year!

Yeah, we already have 6 movies that beat the top 3 of last year. It doesn't get much better than that.

Holy Cow! The Vow did really well, and I had no idea that LGF was the company that made The Hunger games. They had fallen off the map and did not have too many hits for a while. I guess we all know why now. They had bigger fish to fry.

Well The Vow has been one of the only Chick Flicks this year, there haven't been that many. So I guess it was just the time for one to shine.
