I am sort of hyped for MIB 3. I still have never watched MIB 2.

Not really hyped about MIB 3 but also haven't watched MIB 2 even though I have the DVD (own about a dozen DVD's that I haven't watchted yet) and its been a long time since I watched the first one which I also own on DVD.  The trailer for MIB 3 look good though.

You two aren't missing much. I hated MIB 2, maybe I was too hyped for it when I went to see it. Funny thing is all of my friends think that one is better than the first. But they are all wrong.

It will keep going and going until it will be extremely hard for future releases to beat it.

I think like TDK, the hype for the second Avengers movie could push the first week totals higher, but it will be down in the end.

^ I am referring to the third movie could have a lot of hype, but can it possibly be better than TDK?

You mean quality wise? Not sure.

Box office wise? There's 0 chances that TDKR will do less than TDK worldwide. It could be even bigger than The Avengers. They just have to focus on marketing that end-of-the-legend factor.

As a person who is defin. going to see it, I am not really sure what it is going to be about. I realize that he has been in hiding for a while, and that Bane and possibly some other bad guy is going to draw him out of hiding, but not sure what else is really going on. They may want to clarify all of that for people like me who do not scour the internet for clues on what is going on with it.

You do not think that Ledger had anything to do with the gross in the last film? Either way I think it will do close to the last movies first weekend. Time will tell on whether the movie is as good though.

I do,but the fact that Ledger isn't part of the cast this time doesn't change anything.

Batman Begins was almost as good as TDK,without Ledger.

People who have seen TDK in theatres and at home will see TDKR,because TDK was amazing, and they trust Nolan that his new movie will be epic.

People who haven't seen TDK will watch TDKR as well, because they want to see what the fuss is all about.

I will watch TDKR but not as hyped up about it than TDK.  I personally don't think it'll make more than TDK and will not reach the Avengers numbers only because the movie is soo dark and I am still bugged by that Catwoman, but I might be wrong.  I do hope TDKR will do as well as the Avengers.

Now,only if they made Gordon-Levitt as Robin. . .  $2 b ww for sure.

Wow. That wasn't even close.

The Avengers $15m Has a chance to make $60 m over the weekend
Battleship $ $9 maybe around $35m
The Dictator $5.7 m He is no Borat
What to Expect $3.8 m Horrible. The previews were horrible - bunch of men complaining.
Dark Shadows $3.8 m Big drop

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. $872,000. This movie had the best average per theater.
The Hunger Games $825,000 drops over 500 theaters but still doing well.

Not really..$55-57M ..looks like I overestimated it =(.

But that's amazing as well,it should have another HUGE weekend next week with the Memorial Day holiday. It will be extremely close to TDK by next Monday.

Battleship - Biggest flop of the year so far along with John Carter.

They are almost identical.

$200 m overseas

$9 m on opening day

John Carter had a bigger budget.

My kids still want to see Battleship so I will check it out.

Now, can the Avengers beat MIB3?    After that, there's no direct competition for the Avengers till Spider comes out.
