One of 2010′s big PS3 exclusives made an unexpected return on the charts last month. According to NPD, God of War III managed to sell 73k copies during the month of July. Putting it right behind new releases like Catherine, which only managed to sell 78k copies during the last 4 days of the month.
God of War III sold 1.1 million copies during it’s initial release back in March of 2010, breaking 3m in worldwide sales by October 2010.
What could be behind the surge in sales for Kratos’ “finale” adventure? Budgeted price? Lack of good games for the month? Who can say for sure. But like the question “Why can’t Kratos grow hair?”, we’ll probably never the answer.
