oh not at all..only an idiot would think some sort of a propmotion couldn't have led to these sales in august. especially after one year plus time since its release. but fact of the matter is this is God of War..a hack and slash. no other games has done sales like this in that genre with or without price cuts and sales etc etc. give some credit where it's due. that's also part of the 'perspective' so to speak. if you can't do that, then yes, you are downplaying the achievement.

and what H&S did numbers like this after 1 year plus in summer? I'm sure this is not the only game which had promotions..remember Rol..perspective? :P

and I mean really...a thread about a game doing xx sales which are great sales considering many factors even with sales at one retailer...but to come into the thread and not talk about that and say bu bu bu I should have made a thread about xxx game too...that's just sad. at least compare it a game that is similar..the approach taken is so transparent with such comments, no attempt to hide it is gonan work

how is what I said was a double standard? Never said nsmb sales are bad, or non praise worthy or any such nonsense. stop being so paranoid. if you think it's impressive, which it is, please go ahead and make a thread on it. it has NOTHING to do with GOW..not comparable in the least...diff genre, diff target audience, diff type of platform etc etc. this thread has nothing to do with it. if you are gonna compare sales of GOW..at least make sure the game you are comparing is similar at least. if not you are just reaching. that's not 'fair'..that's just ignorant and unneeded to this thread. simple attempt of downplaying really. why enter a thread about a specific game and spout unrelated nonsense about something that adds nothing to the discussion? the double standard here is dsiplayed by you here to be frank..you speak of perspective..but doesn't use it properly. it's like me entering xx game/console of ninty sold xx amount thread and say meh might as well make threads about xx game/platform seeling this much. utter derailment and downplaying.

Makes sense, game was really well recieved and stands as maybe the most popular PS3 exclusive in the US. what i just dont understand is why GOW3 hasnt been as popular in Europe. its sold more copies than Uncharted 2 in the US, a game which came out before it.

yet in Europe its not doing as well.

my question is this undertracked in EMEAA??

Great Game. Not my favorite on the trilogy, but a great game nonetheless.

EMEAA isn't very fond of games that have a lot of blood & gore. Examples being God of War, Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, Twisted Metal, & probably some more I can't think of...

Why? Apples and oranges man. Casual, friendly blockbuster in the 2nd best selling platform of all time versus a violent, hardcore game on the 3rd placed PS3 who isn't even the cream of the crop of it's franchise, at least IMO.

Otherwise, you can claim we have no reason to open a thread to talk about a post-pricecut week of, say, 500k for the 3DS, since the iPhone is selling more than twice that ammount on an average week.

let me make it simpler for you in point form

1. what I said was what you 'think' is a double standard..is not one at all. you were just being paranoid

2. the thread is about 'GOW" and its sales. I read the OP and even replied to it before calling out the idiocacy of some. you would have noticed this if you actually took time to understand what I wrote..or even read it properly

3. I never contested about the rise in sales was due to sales.....heck before you guys started derailing with random comments me and few others have followed the games sales for ages..and have been discussing it over the past weeks especially....hence why I knew what it was due to mainly..maybe try to clarify things before ranting on. fact of the matter is..even with sales..given the game and genre it belongs to..these ARE impressive sales which are adding on to what already is the highest selling H&S game of all time

4. my beef was mainly with bringing in nsmb to the thread. it's not needed...unrelated..and derailing. doesn't matter how much you sugarcoat it, that was just a sad sad attempt to downplay the sales. the games are not even comparable..in any way that a decent logic can back it. stop running around the issue..this is what I was explaining in all my previous posts but you don't seem to have a proper answer.it's like me going into a ps2 weekly sales thread and saying HA! 360 outsold it this week so I should make a thread on it! take your own advice and take things in perspective..this are impressive numbers for more reasons than one. if you and your bud can't hold yourself from not talking about nsmb sales..by all means..as I told D Joe..go and make a thread on it! I will make sure to not come in there and try and talk about unrelated news/games/sales etc. :)

3. hmm never said that anyone downplayed LT sales? rols paranoia on over drive today. Meant these sales are adding up on to something that is already impressive..makes it even more impressive. no other H&S achieved sales like these, especially after such a long time from release (not talking of LT sales here..the months sales) be sure to either point out if this is wrong (show me what game has managed to sell this much in the genre after such a time since release with or without price cuts, and anyone who is not an idiot would know, such promotions would have benefited those games as well at some point or the other) or just stop blabbering on without properly understanding the point made first

4. If that's what you use to create a 'relation' between to games then that itself is a sad lilttle notion. if you can't see how vastly different these two games are, their target audiences are etc. I have wasted my time arguing with you. might as well point out how Apple is outselling nintendo systems in every thread made on it or something. Take a moment to at least consider the amount of crap you are posting here. it's not comparable at all. and it was unrelated and unneeded in this thread.simple as that.
