I'm a Senior Consultant at one of the Big 4 professional services firms. I help companies streamline their business processes and provide them with solutions to avoid external and internal risks. It's fun on a good day, insane and hectic on a bad one.

maybe your company can help the global governments with there problems, but i'm sure your company would face some resistane not to mention the governments money's no good lol.

That would be an interesting dynamic. But believe me, the governments do not want an impartial and objective 3rd party sticking their nose in government affairs. Now don't get me wrong, we don't just work for private companies, we also service public companies too (government, ministries, etc), but the scope of work is similar to working with private ones, as in, we are stream-lining their processes to make them more efficient, etc. But that doesn't mean we can walk into the White House and start ordering Obama around telling him how to fix the debt crisis. That's where the government draws the line. Unfortunately though, cause they could seriously use some impartial judgment on how to fix their mess cause all they do now is play the "whose penis is bigger" game.

i know and agree. it was acctualy part joke part we have idiots running the world lol.

its funny when you think about it. we have politicians that acctualy know how to fix the debt crisis, but prefure to play politics instead. well with you and your job and me being a business major we both know whts next if these fools don't drop the politic's and fix th problem.

its not hard to get done but its a tough processe that many would fight to the death to prevent.

to me it seems it doesn't matter wht Obama went to the white house to fix and make change or how much change he made if any(matter of OP)cause in the long run he was never ment to get anything done knowing himself the oposition he faced from dems or republicans.

alot of people say its about color of skin which isn't my area, but for me its always been about money and power, but soon they'll all see that they had none to begin with.

Yeah, I wasn't sure whether you were being serious or sarcastic. I thought that you might be a younger kid who genuinely thought it was possible to go in and just fix the broken government. I shoulda probably checked your profile first to see you're a 26 year old and assume you are well-versed in sarcasm...

lol i love sarcasm and its something i spend alot of time doing, but governments are stupid and that had to be pointed out lol. yea i'm glad you checked my profile.

one man can change the world, but how many can he get to follow his lead. when you think of Poland, Hitler, and the KKK u'd thnk i'd be easy to get legions of men and women to follow you but some change is just to important not to make for the people at the top and they choose the change that works best for them which is unfortunate for the rest of the world.

What's that supposed to mean?

lol, this post made me giggle (but only because I'm a giant nerd)

Currently doing the day to day office work (books, little jobs they have for me around the office, keeping computers all in good working condition, etc). Started this in February, and am intending on staying there at least until I graduate from college (~2 years).

While school is going on, I will also start doing online tutoring again. I take a break from this during the summer, but it is a good thing to do to pass the time.

I also donate plasma twice a week. While this might not really sound like a job, I consider it one. It takes about 1 hour each time, during which I read, and I get paid $20 for first time each week, and $40 for the second time each week.

For 6 weeks each summer (just finished it last Monday), I am an umpire for a kids (14 and under I believe) softball league.

Currently on summer break, but in 2 weeks, I will also be going to school full time. Currently enrolled in a Statistics major and a Finance minor.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Doing a PhD in classics. Best time of my life to be honest.

That's wonderful. What is your focus? And what do you see yourself doing once you graduate if you don't mind me asking. Classics is a very interesting and broad field. It allows for people with many different tastes and interests to jump aboard.

Glad to hear you find it interesting. I'm working on Cicero's letters and his conception of friendship (whether it was influenced by Epicurus, Plato, Aristotle). When I get my PhD I'll try to find a job as a lecturer somewhere (most likely New Zealand) and publish some articles.

I really don't get why PhD students complain about the workload. I can pretty much wake up any time, I don't have any classes or papers or exams or boring courses. I just study mostly things that I consider fascinating.

I agree with you. Classics is something so broad that it's difficult to not find anything you like.
