Forums - Sony Discussion - Twistes Metal Ps3 delayed 2012

It's all about Uncharted 3 this winter
Ok, so now…the bad news. Or at least the ‘news that seems bad at first but after you read the rest of my post I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s actually fantastic news’ news. So here it is:

We’re not shipping Twisted Metal October 4th, 2011. We’re going to miss our date. We’re going to be late.

Ugh! I know, I know. A lot of dedicated, supportive, passionate Twisted Metal fans have been waiting for the return of Calypso’s demented contest for a long time but the truth is: we’re just not ready yet.

Sony has been – and remains – a super supportive champion and collaborator on this title and all of us at Eat Sleep Play are so grateful that their patience and generosity will allow us the extra time needed to polish our demented baby until it shines. NOTE: I don’t actually think that qualifies as a mixed metaphor… just a bad one. But the ‘demented baby’ part was really cool to me, and it felt very Twisted Metal-y, so I’m keeping it in this post.

Twisted Metal for PS3 will ship early 2012. Stay tuned for more details.

aww.....boners....was really looking forward to playing that in October. well as they say "better to have a delayed great game then a punctual crappy one.

...

Lol they quoted Miyamoto

"
There’s a great, classic industry saying by legendary Nintendo designer – and personal hero – Shigeru Miyamoto that goes a little something like this:

‘A late game is only late until it ships. A bad game is bad until the end of time.’
"

Too bad today's reviewers and journalists will whine and complain about delays like its a game breaking glitch.

SONY really needs to get its head straightened out

on one side they show gamers that alot of exclusives are coming so you will have to purchase a PS3 to play them

but on the other hand all exclusives are spaced out in time so why should a consumer invest in the short term in which sony will lose marketshare

they need to announce games near release to build hype and release them to capitalize the popularity

this is because of lazy work sony did when they concentrated more on PS2 when PS3 was launching and hence the games are coming late in the generation

please get ur game up for PS4 or you will have problems

It's the one game I would have bet on to be delayed.

I can't say I'm too surprised.

The game wasn't really getting a lot of exposure. With it being just two months from release, there was barely any news on the game. I couldn't help but think that the game wasn't quite polished up. And then you have arguably the most packed season this gen, with both Multiplats and Exclusive, the game was going to most likely fly under the radar.

Hopefully they can release in a less crowded period, polish the game, get more exposure, and get more sales. I'm actually more interested in the game now.

I thought the PS3 would go an entire year without having a game delayed, silly me!

i'm glad its been delayed as i perconaly felt TM needed more polish any way but Torillian. do they really say that? cause if so its the best saying i've heard for games in sometime now.

eh, probably not a bad thing overall. third party software is killer this holiday (dark souls, batman, child of eden for me personally but I'm sure MW3, BF3, AC, Skyrim is up there too for others). And with Uncharted, R&C, Resistance, ICO collection the 1st party ain't exactly barren without TM.

I know personally i'm more likely to get TM in the Jan/Feb region as it isn't my most anticipated title anyways.

edit: ...unless they put it up next to TLG then it is so long to TM.

FFS, gonna mess my meta league up, should have fucking known Sony would delay at least one game!

Well I wouldn't have had time for it this fall anyway.

It is pretty sad though that this and The Last Guardian have been known about for years and years and only make it out now that Nintendo is ready to release their next console.
