Who abandon Handheld gaming to become a Smartphone player?

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

the marketing guys and developers who make smartphone games.
apart from them, no-one.

As long people still interest in Handheld games developpers will still create games for Handheld.

That why i don't know why Handheld will die.

I did... but I never played a lot of handhelds.

Anyways the results are obvious in a gaming site like this one. Lots of 'no' responses and answers like the one above (from the PSN guy).

Handhelds are still basically the only way that I play games

I did for a little while. With the internet, music, movies, comics, and games all being provided by my smmartphone, it was hard to find a reason to fire up the PSP. I was an Angry Birds fanatic and the other time wasters filled in the gaps. To date, I still haven't finished MGS Peacewalker and Valkyria 2.

After a while, the games I had for my phone began to feel shallow. I know deep games exis for smart phones but, with limited memory, I couldn't force myself to buy any of them. Anyway, I went back to my PSP to play FFVII, Xenogears, and Grandia. I recently grabbed a 3DS, too (and I'll be buying Crisis Core PSP, soon--only $9!!). I'm glad I came back.

not really. While the GBC was my last handheld, I don't really play much on my iPod Touch.
The games are just not comparable to consoles or handhelds

I own an ipad and iphone, but as far as games go, aside from one or two, they just aint there.

Hipster teenagers do...

But nobody likes them, so no-one, you would have to be pretty stupid to do that.

I play both my nintendo ds and itouch very often. Since games are so cheap to develop for the itouch, many of them are actually very creative, while its rare to find a unique new game for the nintendo ds nowadays. Also the itouch has a huge library of good rpgs. None of them are triple A must have, but some of them are surprisingly deep.
